My grandmother was like 15-20 years ago. Not sure what you're looking for but she used to have to keep a "tv journal" of what she watched and for how long.
I personally blame her for Murder She Wrote and 60 Minutes being as popular as they were.

It would be nice to know who all the idiots are who keep giving reality TV shows such good ratings while giving good shows that actually involve thought such poor ratings they get cancelled.

I was offered once. they wanted to put a box on my TV to monitor what I was watching and it seemed like a hassle at the time.
