I think it's okay for a 13 year old. Nothing overly gruesome and I'm sure you kid has seen way worse in other movies.

Personally, as long as something doesn't have explicit/obscene depictions of rape, sex, drug use in certain contexts, or torture, I probably wouldn't have too much of an issue with a 13 year old seeing it, depending on the kid's personality. That's just me though.

Normally I would say that if you have to ask this question.....

But I really see no problem with this. Teenagers his age are playing GTA 5, battlefield and call of duty. A movie like this isn't really much of a problem.

God forbid a parent should care about what their children see and how they react to it. The thing I'm most worried about with my 14 y/o daughter seeing this is the scene where a child is murdered with a drill.

My dad was a WWII vet and when I was young, he would sometimes watch war movies with me. Much like Kyle's father, he would also spend a lot of time target shooting and hunting with me. But he always made sure that I understood the the reality and horrors of war. He would say things like, "it's not like what's on television or the movies. There's nothing glamorous or fun about it when bullets are coming at you and killing people all around you...people you know. It was hell and it was real". He said it made him angry and mean. I knew he meant it too because there were times I could see that side of him.

Point being...if you do take your son, use it as an opportunity to spend time talking with him about the realities of war and and make sure he understands.
