Just an awesome experience.
It is one of my go to scores to listen to when trying to fall asleep, the other being the leftovers score.

I watched it twice and didn't like it either time. To each their own.

I have loved it every time I see it. I also watch it every time I see it on TV.
I still don't really understand a few parts tho. Like the time difference. How does time pass faster (or slower) for a human life-cycle just because they are on a different planet?
Also the part after he goes through the black hole and is in that "5D" space, or whatever the eff it is, where time is broken into moments in time or what have you. I don't get that part either. Someone please help
I do love it tho. I'd watch it right now if I could.

Same
I don't care if the science is accurate
I just need it to make rational sense to my unscientific mind.

i saw the first by myself while traveling for work. i liked it, but i needed a little processing afterwards. hated the 20 minutes before the last 10.
second time i saw it in IMAX to really enjoy it. this time i wasn't trying to wrap my head around anything and was able to just soak in the score (which was robbed at the oscars.)
i appreciated it a lot more the second time when i wasn't trying to understand the plot or science and just saw the spectacle.
last act still sucked.

Move on from the Roche limit and start talking Hawking radiation, just to start off with. Depending on the size of the black hole (the superficial gravity decreases incrementally with the increase in the black hole's size, just so you know, basic classical Newtonian physics explains that) and distance from the event horizon, a habitable planet can absolutely exist, as can a solar system.
Ummmmm ... pretty sure I alluded-to that in my post above. You know, the part where I called him on the "what if it was a super massive black hole" and how that would not change the science in the movie's favor.
Nor would it explain any of the number of other inaccuracies I noted.

Edit: Just so we're clear, the decision to lower the tone is entirely on you. I called some B.S. on your comment and proceeded to discuss why in terms of my experience back then. You decided to go after me. So if you get offended by my reply here, suck it up.
Was the tone raised? Ohhhhh, you mean after you ratcheted-it-up with your "calling B.S." comment? Nah friend - my tone wasn't raised, I was simply responding in-kind. Unfortunately, sometimes, with the absence of voice inflection and facial expression "tone" on message boards is subject to misinterpretation. My tone wasn't raised - it was a reflection of yours. Nor did I go after you - that thought never crossed my mind. I may have been a little snippy because it was 2AM and the overseas markets were sucking balls and I just wanted to go to bed. After all I'm just an old country boy and you're a Vandy man. Who am I to debate Science with you, right?
We cool? Peace friend. :)

Because the planet was orbiting a black hole. According to the movie every hour on the planet orbiting Gargantuan was equivalent to 7 years off the planet, Which they forgot to account for.

Its someones imagination/interpretation of what it would be like going through a black hole. Dont overthink it
