I just learned today that the voice of Splinter from the original 1987–1996 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon was from New Iberia, LA.
Peter Renaday
Peter Renaday, a prolific voice actor, was born Pierre L. Renoudet in Louisiana.
Apparently, no one out west could pronounce his name so he changed it to the phonetic spelling, Renaday.
He also did voice acting for Transformers, Gargoyles, and was Abraham Lincoln in The Animaniacs.
Also, I think he was the voice of Lincoln in the Hall of Presidents (1993-2008).
Kinda cool story.

Splinter was his most famous, but he voiced characters in Studio Ghibli movies and a bunch of Disney movies.
