Increasing calls to release Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League

Yesterday was the second anniversary of the release of Justice League, so fans took the opportunity on the occasion to get #ReleasetheSynderCut trending on Twitter. It paid off in spades as it began trending, nationally, on the social media platform with DC celebs such as Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck adding in their voices to the growing call.
For those of you who don't remember, Snyder had to leave the project shortly after production ended to be with his wife after the suicide of their daughter. Joss Whedon was brought in to finish post-production as well as to do extensive re-shoots which dramatically changed the overall story of Justice League.
I personally want to see this mythical cut just to see what could have been. Apparently Zack Snyder's cut of the film sets up many things for the now-scrapped DCEU.

Is it just mediocre or bad? I haven't seen it and the only thing piquing my interest is watching Gal Gadot.

I’d say it’s a mediocre film.

Don't they have several movies coming out over the next few years though. Is it really scrapped or are they just changing what will happen in the extended universe?

I thought it was awful, honestly.

I think they have decided to deemphasize the “shares universe” nature of things and instead to focus on individual films.
Which was kind of what they needed to do to begin with. The first few Marvel films (Iron Man 1, Hulk, Cap) made a few minor references but any crossover was mainly limited to post-credit sequences. Things picked up in Iron Man 2 leading to Thor and the first Avengers movie.
In effect, Snyder was trying to jumpstart a franchise and doing it that way overly bloated the films with a lot of stuff that doesn’t pay off in the current film. Add that into any development and exposition for the current film and you get a mess.
Marvel taking it slow did it right, in that there may have been a hope to do Avengers but they didn’t start hammering that home until movie four when Avengers was movie six.

Based on Zack’s track record his cut is probably even worse than what they released, and they’re doing him a favor by not releasing a train wreck

You know it hasn’t been scrapped.

If it was a complete movie, I'd love to see it. But I'm afraid that the unfinished effects will have people dismissing it.

Birds of Prey (2020)
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
The Batman (2021)
Suicide Squad 2 (2021)
Black Adam (2021)
Aquaman 2 (2022)
New Gods (?)
Shazam 2 (?)
Six films with release dates, five of them are in the DCEU. Plus, Shazam 2 will be set in the DCEU (We don't know if New Gods will mention Steppenwolf or not). They're not as dependent on each other as they were (BvS was required viewing before JL, Wonder Woman's framing device touched on BvS), but almost all films will share the same universe.

Its original incarnation has been scrapped. Snyder was building up to a confrontation with Darkseid. That is no longer happening.

I think they'll release it on their streaming platform.

Hard to imagine how much better his cut can be. Justice League would have to be a thousand times better just to suck.
