Almost everyone has read some comic, manga, or graphic novel

I'm not so sure, I don't know many people that claim they've read a single issue of a single comic. Most people know comic characters via movies or tv shows or maybe gaming. Comics characters didn't really become mainstream until rather recently or at least the ones that aren't Superman, Batman, or Spiderman

Haven't read a comic book since I was probably in 6th grade.

True for many people

But you read one

I don't know a single one of my kids' friends that haven't read a comic or manga.

claim to, or haven't?

I don't typically talk about comics with my buddies, but I am fairly certain they have all read at least A comic book at some point.
