Now that i have seen LOST, it will be interesting to be able to pick up on the references when Once Upon A Time starts season two in a couple of weeks. It's pretty cool that so many LOST people are on OUAT

No reason for Nadia. Sayid found his true love in Shannon.

That's bullshite. Nadia was the ONLY thing that Sayid ever truly cared about deeply. Sure, he "loved" Shannon for about three weeks. But he spent damn near a lifetime trying to get Nadia back into his life. I agree with OML that I'd like for him to have gotten better redemption than he did, but that's also one of the great things about the show...that not everyone has the happiest of endings.

My wife (no pics) is currently in season 2 of Lost, I am not watching. However, I'd like to read a spoiler synopsis of the show, maybe by season, that kind of explains all of the weird crap surrounding the show and the characters. I read the wiki synopsis paragraphs but its not very detailed. I'm going to go to each characters pages and read through those too.

Bottom line, I'd like to get an understanding of the show without watching six years worth of TV.

You should seriously watch the show. It's fantastic. But I know you won't. As for reading about the episodes, go to Lost on Wiki...not the season synopses, but each episode. The plot summaries go into LOTS of detail, and you can read to your heart's content...although it'll take forever, and won't make much sense without actually having seen the episodes.

Again, I know you likely won't watch it, but it's a really easy (and addictive) show to rifle through, and watching them marathon style, you won't get hung up on all the insignificant questions that you often see people bitch about.

Sorry, but this is bullshite really. Nadia was clearly his true love, while Shannon was a one month fling. I have a big problem with Sayid in Season 6. Nadia was his absolute drive, and then when he completely lost her, he went batshit crazy and was on an unstoppable path of vengeance. Sayid should have had some sort of redemption more than he did, something like Ben did. Sayid just went on a downward spiral and never really came out of it.

this is true and something i hated about the ending. sayid was a pretty dark character. and his true love was nadia.

The old lady is currently on season 2, and Id have to watch 4 episodes a day to catch up. Not happening. I'm currently on season 4 of Psych, and only have 4 episodes left of Eastbound & Down.

I guess I just wanted an explanation on some of the weird things in the show.

It won't work that way, this is a show you will have to watch to understand--trust me.

Watching Lost will really cut in to my Call of Duty time, and I can't be having that.

That's not really an easy task, both for the explainer to explain and for you to understand. Borderline impossible, actually, with you having exactly zero knowledge of the show.

You really are missing out, especially since she's watching it and you could watch it together. It's an awesome show to watch with someone else. The ex and I watched it last year, and she loved it (her first time) and I liked it even more than I did the first time around.

She usually watches an episode or two while I play CoD, hence my above listed statement.

Oh I know. But I was saying if you could find time to watch it, then it's 100% worth it. Even if you don't like how it ends (I did FWIW), it's still a pretty enthralling ride and great television.

finish this one first... new season starts in a few weeks

But I'd definitely recommend catching up to your SO on LOST. You will each get alot out of the discussions you will have trying to figure out what is going on. I just finished watching season 1 again and loved it just as much as I remembered.

enthralling is a good word. my husband would come in the bedroom to check on me every once in awhile to make sure I was still alive and wasn't getting bed sores.

Everything happened on the island. The flashes in the last season was the " Purgatory ".

The spider couple were not important to the lives of the the chosen, so they were not in the church waiting to cross over.

Why wasn't Michael in the church

Racist.

Glad to see you flew through the series so quick! Aside from those few questions in the OP, how did you like the show overall? Thoughts and feelings?

Easily my favorite show of all time. It had a few low moments like the tattoo but had incredible character development, plots, mythology, themes, writing, direction, music, casting, locations.
