I thought the alternate ending had him returning the female mutant to the lead mutant and they left him alive. I guess that could be some AI BS I saw, I get fooled by that more than I should

The movie was really nothing like the source material.
In the novel and the original film with Vincent Price, he was up against vampires, not mutants.

The movie was just ok. Not going by the original story, they miss the whole point and the title doesn’t make sense.

I had no idea about the alternate ending becoming the canon ending when it released to DVD. That’s wild. I only saw the theatrical ending where he sacrifices himself
I may be up for a sequel after reading how the alternate ending goes down, showing the infected are actually not just monsters but were trying to save the female that was in the lab
