Don't get your hopes up. It won't be as good as the books.
Just like every other book/movie

One flew over the cuckoo's nest
A Clockwork Orange
Both the books and movies were good.

However, I think I will wait a bit to see it so I don't have to sit in a theater filled with Twi-hard-esque fangirls
Same here.

Read through all 3 in the past week and a half. Enjoyed them a lot, so I'm very much looking forward to the movie. PG-13 is worrisome, but eh, they always push what they can get away with on these ratings, so we can hold out some hope.

I enjoyed the books but the PG-13 rating turns me off a bit. I know that for the fan base they couldn't make it R, but I seriously hope they didn't have to cut the majority of the violence out just to get a lower rating.

I also read all 3 books in the past month and am looking forward to the movie. I was a little disappointed in some parts of the ending of the 3rd book, but overall, I loved the series.
I wonder if the movie will end with the first book or go into the 2nd book.
The 2nd book couldn't (or shouldn't) be a movie all by itself. Maybe if the 2nd and 3rd books were combined for a 2nd movie, that would work.

there are going to be 4 movies
the third book will be two movies

That isn't surprising, but really doesn't seem necessary at all.

just another way to make more money off of it

Then the Twilight comparisons are definitely justified.

I am wondering how they are going to do this myself since the 2nd book was almost a repeat of the first.

Hunger Games is good, but it isn't quite as good as the Twilight Saga

hope there is a hidden sarcasm tag somewhere in that thought...

I just finished reading Twilight Breaking Dawn before reading the Hunger Games trilogy (read the first Twilight book after seeing the movie, but skipped the 2nd and 3rd Twilight books and only saw the movies).
I liked the Breaking Dawn book and the movie was OK. Liked the first 2.8 Hunger Games books, so we will have to see if the Hunger Games movie can push it past BD for me. And apparently there are 3 more HG movies to go.

Breaking Dawn was a massive disappointment IMHO. It built up as if there was going to be a battle between all these vampires with x-men like super powers, then they just stand around in a field and talk and that's it. The last Hunger Games book was pretty disappointing as well though

Agree with both.
A few things:
Disappointed its rated PG13, which I'm not sure if they have said is 100% certain. How can you "baby" a series which is entirely revolved around kids fighting to the death and killing each other?
I've never understood why girls like these books so much. I really never got a romance vibe reading them. Only thing I can guess is they really like the idea of a girl kicking arse?
I'm not sure how they can make the 3rd book into 2 movies. If anything I would make the 1st book 2 movies and a combination of the 2nd/3rd book into 2 movies. The 1st book is by far the best and it is the only one that could handle 2 movies and not suck.
