Spoilers

I saw it a couple days ago, and I wasn't really a big fan. I didn't really think the action scenes were very well done at all. Also, I didn't understand their attempts to demonize a bunch of the other competitors because they were killing other people. They were in a freaking DEATHMATCH. They had no choice.

The only part that really pissed me off was when that gigantic black guy had a great chance to kill JL when there were only like 5 people left, and he let her live.

Overall, I would give it a 6/10.

It's not like he let her live for no reason, she DID save someone from his colony.

I give the movie a solid 8/10

I enjoyed it. Never read the books but. I do wish the powers would not have interfered so much. Starting the fire, sending in the hound things.

And, i guess the guy didn't kill her there because she befriended the little girl from his district?

No, I haven't read the book, but I've heard really good things about it though. I will try and get around to it. I almost started reading it when I saw Lebron James reading it before NBA Finals games

Books were enjoyable very light reading. I thought the movie could have been done better. Some of the stuff that you complained about would have been explained some if you read the book. 7/10 enjoyable but not earth shaking.

I read the books before seeing the movie.

That being said, I think they dropped the ball a little conceptually on the movie.

Idk a couple of them really seemed to enjoy it, like that blonde haired alpha male douche

I was expecting a little more action and less lovey dovey, but still enjoyed it.

Took me almost the entire movie to realize this was Elizabeth Banks (Miri from Zach and Miri)

Yeah, that part bothered me a little too.

Yeah, I guess it was his reasoning, but, at the end of the day, you are gonna have to kill everyone else. No point in letting someone live when you are just going to have to kill them later.

It just bothered me that they expect the audience to believe that he would not kill her when there were only like 5 people left in the game.

He probably didn't see her as a real threat.

meh, the movie looked cheap, the design was tacky, and anything resembling drama was lacking.

the whole thing was just silly. from what i gather, the books go pretty hard, but the movie was watered down teen entertainment. I like some of the ideas, but it was all really poorly executed.

That's a reasonable explanation, but I would've killed her in a heartbeat if I were in that black guy's situation.

It was better than whatever POS Katherine Heigel or Sara Jessica Parker movie my wife normally wants to see, but I'm not counting down the days until #2 comes out.

Did not watch. Will not watch.

ETA: I saw Battle Royale a couple times. That's close enough.

Pretty much this. Me loving me some Jennifer Lawrence was a saving grace. I think they did a good job with Peeta too.

Cato gets on my nerves. Ok you idiots, you have the supposed strongest/baddest dude in an alience with you. Yet when he's asleep next to you, why not wake up in the middle of the night and cut the dudes throat. But nah I'd rather screw something up tomorrow and let him walk up to me and snap my neck it's cool.
