I’d pay to see a Spaceballs inspired short of the Asguardians escaping invasion with Thor, Hulk, and Loki leading

Maybe I missed something, but how did anyone on that ship (Infinity War) survive besides Hulk and Thor?
I guess good pressure-sealed doors, and a very precise beam weapon on Thano's ship- it's got to be harder to cut a ship in half and leave it viable, than to just blow it up.
Now, do they drift until Thor returns to them after Infinity War, and he brings them to Earth... or can they still navigate and they make the journey themselves? I'm leaning towards the former. He can use Stormbringer to go back to the derelict ship and it's occupants, and then take them all to the area he scouted out (or more precisely, Odin scouted). Where he was when Hela was released and first attacked.
The division of the populace seems more... willing on Thor's (and the Asgardians') part, rather than random choice by Thanos. Meaning, they divided themselves up.
An assault by Thanos without hesitation, you'd think Valkerie and Korg would at least fight, and thus would be killed by necessity. But Loki knew Thanos' plans, he could have given up the intel- and they designated Valk to lead the women and children etc. Korg, it's not his fight, he also got sent along to live.
Thor and Heimdall gathered the warriors, and along with Loki they were the designated "dead"- who then put up a fight. Perhaps Loki deduced that Thanos would deal honorably, and kill all the resistance- and thus spare the other group if they were equal in number. A tough decision, but at least it gave them a fighting chance: if you all fight, Thanos would end up blowing up the entire ship and killing them all.
Out of curiosity, I wonder if Thano's snap spared the Asgardian survivors and the worlds he'd already hit. Per his logic, they'd already been culled.
