Maybe I missed something, but how did anyone on that ship (Infinity War) survive besides Hulk and Thor?

The only explanation is Spaceballs style escape pods sent to earth reserved for interesting characters.

Minor complaint, but I feel it's a legit question.

IIRC, the Russo brothers said something about off-screen escape pods.

I know it was already a long movie, but I felt showing their ship being invaded, some escape/some die, then showing the Thanos/Hulk/Thor/Loki scene would have been a great opening scene, not just walking over dead bodies anti-climatically like they went with.

So, Spaceballs. I like it.

Somebody must have jammed the radar.

I really, really hate the fact that MCU studios destroyed something so beautiful and heavenly like this and replaced it with a random bumfrick fishing village in the Nordic Countries.

They didn't even try to make the New Asgard look something like this as it is in the comics....

All they have to do is switch from suck to blow.

Valkyrie did state at the end of Endgame, when Thor handed over power, that she will make changes.

a great opening scene

Thanos obtaining the power stone could have been it's own movie.

He only killed half of the ship's passengers.

You saw Endgame right? Didn't you see Thor's new coastal town? It was called new Asgard....lol. TBH I think it was just made to be a joke in Endgame. I think it was just emo fat Thor's way of holding onto his former home.

When time travel is the biggest plot driver for their biggest movie, do you really even have to question that stuff anymore?

Well to be fair, Thor, the ruler of new Asgard was too busy eating potato chips, drinking beer, and playing Fortnite instead of trying to build up his peoples new home.

It’s one movie, I’m pretty sure they’ll establish a new “New Asgard” over time.

So OP, you’re just going to ignore the fact that they only had 100 or so Asgardians left who had witnessed the physical destruction of their home, half of the survivors being wiped up by a big purple bastard, were sent to a completely foreign planet that had just had half of their population wiped out, and their King was a drunken mess?

Considering all of that, they were thriving. They were also in the village from the first Thor and from the beginning of Captain America.

New Asgard is from the comics. Just in Oklahoma.
