Fantastic show with an obviously great cast. No idea how it only got one season

But seriously, everyone here minus the two or three standard, contrary assholes loves the show, and for good reason. The reason those individuals cite is because it's "overrated."

I was upset when I heard the 5th season would be the last season, but it ended perfectly. AMC is making it's mark on TV history.
I'm confused is this about freaks and geeks? Isn't it only 1 season? What are you referring to here? Forgive me if I missed what you were responding to

"Don't ever smoke cigarettes. Do you know who smoked cigarettes? Elvis. Guess what happened to him? He died!"
"Don't do drugs. Do you know who did drugs? Jimmie Hendrix. Guess what happened to him? He died!"
cant remember the exact quotes but they were something along those lines

The dad played one of the Russian (or Czech) guards in Stripes - a running joke was that Sam and friends loved Stripes and were always talking about it.

You know, I had a friend that used to smoke. You know what he's doing now? He's dead!
You know, there was a girl in our school, she had premarital sex. You know what she did on graduation day? Died! Of an overdose. Heroin.
You can't cut corners in life! You know who cut corners? Kennedy! Kennedy cut corners when he was running the Bay of Pigs. A lot of good men lost their lives because of it. You know who else cut corners? Janis Joplin.
There was this kid in my neighborhood growing up, Scott Byron. He kept on trick or treating until he was well into his 20s. You know where he's living now? At home! With his ninety-year-old mother. He's the laughingstock of the community. Never took a wife either.

I enjoyed it when I watched it, but the coolest part was seeing how young everyone was and what they are now. I'm surprised Judd only made one season.

Thanks to this thread, I finally gave the show a watch last night and finished the first 3 episodes. Loved them. It's such a simple show, but it's extremely addicting only 3 episodes in. And obviously, the cast is phenomenal.

I still can't understand why he didn't get more work. He (Joe Flaherty) and Andrea Martin are the "almost" forgotten members of the first SCTV troupe. Canada's "SNL" - the first cast of SCTV included Flaherty, Martin, as well as John Candy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O'Hara, Harold Ramis and Dave Thomas.
At times - way funnier than SNL.

How so? It wasn't his choice to only make one season.

The Dad was also the messenger at the end of Back to the Future II who gives Marty the note from past Doc.

Linda Cardellini, so hot. I'm glad I know her real age because I feel a little dirty looking at her that way when she's playing a high school girl. Loved her in Grandma's Boy.

I have 2 episodes left but Bill is by far one of the best TV characters ever.
Yes, Linda Cardellini is freaking hot. She looks even better today.

I've been going through Undeclared lately. I've only seen a few episodes of Freaks and Geeks but I'll move on to that next. F&G fans should check out Undeclared too.
