Dragons make everything better. Also, I like the new actors as merely aging up the younger ones would not have worked. By going with older actors, you get the true emotional changes, not just the physical ones. You just can't get quite the same weariness at the world and cynicism in youth.
Oh, and pour one out for Laena, an OG dragonrider.

So a recap on all these fricking kids
Rhaenyra has children with Laenor. (maybe) They are Jacaerys, Lucerys, Joffrey. Daemon has kids with Laena. They are the twins Baela and Rhaena. Queen Alicent has kids with King Viserys. They are Aegon II, Helaena, Aemond.

So I knew they died in Harenhaal but didn’t realize it was Larys behind it. Is that in the book at all/canon, or changed for the show?

Enjoyed seeing the play up of the emotion between dragon rider and dragon. The whole dragon bonding stuff is interesting to me.

If I remember correctly it was never directly implied to be him but he was one of a couple suspected by those who didn’t buy the “Harrenhal is cursed” business.
I believe Harwin also traveled with Rhaenyra to Dragonstone before going to Harrenhal and before the shite went down in the courtyard so they moved some of that around from what’s known/told.

What happens when a dragon rider dies? Does the dragon accept orders from someone else or does it have to be put down?

Some dragons are reclaimed by other potential riders. Some dragons fly off and live without a rider. Vhagar for instance was unclaimed for several years before Laena.

Still do not like they skipped the whole Greens vs Blacks which in the books set up everything for the future. But understand it may not be very political as some may take the meaning the wrong way, especially with the casting of the show. I do like how the princes are wearing the house colors showing the division of succession facing the realm.
