Ahhh gotcha thanks for the answers. I like coming here after each show to get the scoop I and others missed.

I had to come to these threads to figure out the kid stuff. Thought Aegon was the oldest for half the episodes and Aemond was the middle kid.

This is an unfortunate side effect of recycling the same damned family names as GOT.

It's hard enough with everyone's names being reused and all sounding the same. It's even harder when you replace the actors playing them. I'm definitely going to binge watch this season after its over to help identify characters better.

I did that with GoT once I got the Dramatis Personae down pat. Probably advisable once this season wraps.

You thought correctly. Aegon is the oldest. Aemond is not the middle kid though, because Alicent has four children. Aemond is the middle son but third kid overall.

Aegon
Helaena
Aemond
Daeron (who has been referenced but not introduced yet)

What's a myrish, tyrosh, Yi Ti, Pentos, etc... accent sound like?

It has to be manufactured because it isn't a real place.

Is there an online resource where you can see the "big picture"? I watched GoT and am current with this one, but did not read any of the books. shite is hard to keep track of mane!

I’m not sure of one for non-book readers. A Wiki of Ice and Fire is a great resource, but not if you want to avoid spoilers.

You may be able to find a family tree as of the most recent episode via Google or Reddit.

Yes, I understand that.

It still sounded particularly ridiculous. Neither GoT or HotD has had that issue before.

Wasn’t that her real voice/accent?

It’s really not worth discussing further, I just found the woman’s accent in this episode to be distractingly fake and unnatural sounding.

heres something that has been bothering me...
how much danger are rhaenyra/daemon/their kids ACTUALLY in?

they are at dragonstone, in a castle, with 5 dragons and presumably men at arms. otto tells ser harrold to "take your knights to dragonstone, make it quick/clean"...

how's that going to happen exactly? they (the kingsguard) are going to sail to dragonstone, siege the castle, and kill everyone in it?

even if they didnt know they were coming, mounted knights are going to be able to fight thru the castle walls, avoid becoming dragon food, and "quickly/cleanly" kill the royals?

I mean, it’s not like they actively have an army hanging out at Dragonstone. Even though it’s been suggested that the Hightowers may try to usurp, for all Rhaenyra knows at this point is it was largely settled (at least while she and Alicent is alive) at the dinner before Viserys I died and that she’s still the rightful heir.

That’s not to say they haven’t made alliances. But they’re not just going to be hanging out at Dragonstone waiting to defend them.

And I would assume they’re going to bring more than just the Kingsguard.

but they dont need an army. they are ensconced inside a castle with 5 dragons at their disposal, and they can see them coming. how many times have we been shown than long-arse walkway up to the castle?

You're forgetting that at the time Otto attempted to get Harrold to go to Dragonstone and kill Rhaenyra, she doesn't know what has happened in KL. She wouldn't have her defenses up and ready to attack the Kingsguard when they showed up asking to see her.

That is also why Rhaenys escaping is key here. Any attempt to control how or what Rhaenyra knows, or any hope of catching her by surprise, quite literally flew out of the window.

When he sent them, Rhaenys hadn’t been released yet.

It wouldn’t be uncommon for the Kingsguard to go retrieve the potential Queen when her father dies. You have to remember we’re operating with things like ravens here. They could easily go on the premise that they’re bringing her to KL and try to kill her.
