Just labeling it best sports movie is a bit tough as there are serious ones, lighthearted ones, biographical ones, etc and I'm not so sure comparing all of them what and what is the right way to do it - but I love Hoosiers - I might like Major League and Field of Dreams just a hair better.....Remember the Titans is right with it for me is one that is the same type of sports movie.

Fun fact. Rocky was almost a TV movie.
Henry Winkler sold it to ABC for Stallone, then when they realized ABC was going to rewrite and recast it, Winkler somehow got it back from them and back to Stallone.
Wow, how different would Stallone's life have been!!

Great point. Can't really compare Hoosiers to say CaddyShack, Major League, etc.
As far as 'serious" movies, it's hard to separate Hoosiers, Rocky, Field of Dreams, and Remember the Titans, they all were great and gave you the chill bumps.

Shouldn’t be on the list since it’s completely fabricated.

Guy likes his baseball
Not my list , but that’s fair.
Just watched Bad News Bears with my 11 and 7 year olds two nights ago. They laughed their butts off.

This new movie Christy needs to be in this discussion. Really amazing acting by Sweeny depicting a tough man winning alpha female battling through life with two fists and a bad attitude. Maybe the first masterpiece of this millennium.

Eh…not necessarily. I’m a football and futbol guy when it comes to live sports. I think baseball lends itself to to movies better than all other sports. The best sports movies just happen to be centered around baseball, with a few rare exceptions like Hoosiers and Rudy (even though it’s fictional).
