2 1/2 damn years or more between seasons. This is getting ridiculous.

quote:

Martin described the show as an "adaptation, but also a creation." Condal, meanwhile, revealed there will be five dragons in House of the Dragon Season 2, with Martin admitting he was impressed by how believable the fire-breathers looked during Season 1. "They had personality," he said. "They came alive. It came as great satisfaction to me." As for when filming Season 2 begins, Condal said it would begin "shortly."....

Season 2 of House of the Dragon was reportedly expected to begin filming this month, with production locations spanning London and Spain. However, fans should not expect the season to air until late 2024 at the earliest, as relayed by HBO content chief Casey Bloys who insisted there was no rush to put it out as he prioritizes quality scripts over stressing timelines.

As long as it is quality and I am still alive, then it is all good.

Sucks but I definitely prefer that they take their time if it means making a quality show. Don’t be like Disney releasing crap as frequently as possible

They used to crank out GOT seasons every year-year and a half.

It’s like this with every series now. You have to get in a rewatch of the previous season before the new one because you don’t remember what the frick was going on by time it rolls around. It’s ridiculous

I think this is because the end of GoT flopped so hard, they didn’t want to approve multiple seasons until they knew it would either he a hit or flop. I think upcoming seasons will be made faster in quick succession. I read the book recently and there are probably at least 3 or 4 seasons worth of material still to go, depending on how they stretch and compress things.

I figured this would start to get better after covid restrictions ended. Stuff took forever when things shut down but I guess they are going to just keep going with the ridiculous gaps. This show won't hurt from the delay but it certainly doesn't help keeping the interest of some shows.

I think they could probably film seasons 2 and 3 in one go to make up for the extra year we have to wait

I suspect it will get a little bit better, but still expect 1.5 to 2 years in between seasons.

I just think instead of starting to map out the next season after finishing their 10 month shoots and 6 months of post, they will be rolling into the next season at the end of post.

This is what comes with 25 million dollar episode budgets filmed in a bunch of different locations though.

I looked up peacemaker season 2 release date not long ago and that is late 2024.

This is way too long for their best shows to be on the shelf.
