Pretty solid series.

SPOILERS

They threw me off when they showed the cameraman buying bleach the night Helen was killed and then the coroner said it took brute strength to staple the eyes shut. I thought he and Lexi were in on it together

That part was kind of confusing. I know Anna was one of the mean girls but, wasn't she the only one who tried to help her that day in the woods? And ended up getting raped herself? Seems odd that Lexi would want to kill her knowing that. Unless it would have been to eliminate her competition.

Ana wasn't "one of the mean girls" but she ran in their group.

on the rest agreed. when Anna figured out Lexi was Catherine or whatever, Schreiber was definitely acting paranoid but she was looking sketchy on her phone. I feel like he freaked out but he didn't threaten her. she shot at him and he ran, then Lexi attacked her.

The scene was definitely done in a way to make Lexi and Schrieber seem like the aggressors, but I don't think they were. My best assumption is that Lexi actually wanted to "bury the hatchet" but Anna crashed out.

That being said... Lexi definitely killed her sister, so....

also, i want to point out of all the most ridiculous of all netflix things I've ever seen, an Indian woman as a detective in rural Georgia is one of the most egregious DEI casts ever.

Actress was fine and played her role, I just do not think that there is a single Indian Sheriff's Detective in the entire nation, nonetheless female, nonetheless rural Georgia.

which shows she's capable of anything. Definitely made it look like she could be the killer.

i'm guessing the girls we're supposed to be her friends and to watch out for her and they did nothing to stop it.

Season 2. They go after the rapists, and try to stop an FBI investigation of the mom for killing everyone in Dahlonega. They've moved to Alpharetta, where Jack is still a lead detective that can't detect a thing. The sisters' little girl has grown up and plans to murder everyone for the mom killing her mom. This ends in a Matrix style battle while Jack looks befuddled, and Anna's forehead blocks out half the frame.

When you rewatch the whole lake house scene after knowing the twist it doesn’t make a lot of sense at all. The husband starts verbally attacking Anna for no reason at all which leads to the whole showdown.

Also would the investigation really just stop there? Wouldnt the cops question the husband and ask what the hell happened? Did nobody see Lexi the night of any of the 3 murders?

It was entertaining but that final twist poked a shite ton of holes in the story

This was my post. He didn’t attack her but got very aggressive and suspicious. She gets physically aggressive and shoots at him which leads to the fight with Lexi. I’d have liked it fleshed out for what “burying the hatchet” meant.

i really enjoyed it but did not like the plot twist

I feel like this is what we should expect with modern storytelling. Twists have to get more outlandish because these types of stories have been told a million times. And in her final speech, it touched on tropes we've seen before, like watch out for the invisible people, and don't underestimate how far a mother would go to show her love for her kids.

My first thought on the final reveal was, she executed the perfect murders, rendered more perfect when the detective shot (now-prime-suspect) Lexy dead, and then she left a written confession.

A quick google search reveals a Detective Patel in the Volusia County Sheriff's Office in Florida. So you're wrong.

So...was the fat girl a good person until she got taken into the woods? She seemed like a nice person, then drank pee, came back to the popular girls, got taken into the woods, then I'm guessing was forever altered (for the plot to work) to the point of killing her sister who was kind of mean to her (for good reason).

Also, Anna being raped by the dudes in the woods doesn't get mentioned when Anna is telling Jack what happened in the woods. You would think once it's time to come clean about what happened...Anna who was raped in the woods...would tell her estranged husband about that. I don't think that was part of the story until they had to make the Keyser Soze Mom the killer because no one liked the original ending upon screening. And making the mom the killer doesn't make any sense unless something super duper heinous was done to her daughter at the hands of the popular girls.

Now...the fat girl technically did nothing wrong in the woods. She was taken out there to be, raped I guess. She was super mad at all of them, and had no reason to think Anna was not in on it. Fat girl then got murdered by Indian Nose detective because everyone thought she was the killer, then framed by Keyser Soze mom. No cameras ever caught Keyser Soze Mom doing anything wrong...which is incredibly stupid since this is a modern show.

The lake house scene was probably the original ending. This was entertaining in the same way watching a car skid slowly on an icy road is entertaining.

I'm trying to remember when the asian chick was murdered and the timeline of events? Did Lexi already come to the town to interview the husband at that point or was she still working the anchor desk in Atlanta?

Wasn't the newcasters' husband one of the rapists from way back?
