It was a science fiction movie, these people found a way to go back in time, but they had to stay on this "sidewalk" type thing, so of course someone steps off and all hell breaks loose.
I remember seeing the preview but I can't remember the name

A Sound Of Thunder
it was meant to be a big budget summer flick but they ran out of money before it was completed so the special effects ended up looking like they were from Sci Fi channel movie.
kind of a fun movie in some ways and has an ok cast. the shitty effects really drag it down though and often not in the its so bad its good kind of way.
basically if you like direct to DVD sci fi schlock this will be good.
but if you want a well made movie you should look elsewhere.

I didn't. Just did a Google search for "movie, time-travel and sidewalk".
4.1/10 IMDb rating and 6% on RT (98 reviews).

With a score of 6% I kind of want to see it. I'll download it. Watching the movie heat right now, never seen it. Pretty good

You mean visual effects and yeah, they were pretty bad. I liked the idea, though. Just poor execution.

Based on a short story by Ray Bradbury. If i remember correctly Not nearly enough content in the story to make a full length movie so they added a ton. But it has been over 20 years since I read the story so my memory may be off.

No you're dead on. I really liked the short story so I remember it well. They had to add quite a few side-characters and an entire sub-plot that eventually became the dominant driver towards the climax (if that makes sense).
The CGI was pretty awful at times, and not so bad in others (foliage and buildings in the futuristic city, for instance looked fine but not great). At points when they were crossing the street, it literally looked like they took the cars from screen caps of a late 90s PC game, as did the dinosaur and the jungle around it.
Overall, I think it would've sucked anyway because of the pace and bad plot/character development so it was probably a good thing they didn't dump untold millions into the CGI to make it look right.
For those interested, I believe it's on HBO Go right now. It was a couple of weeks ago at least.
