I enjoyed Django. I think it gets nitpicked. It certainly wasn't crappy. There were things I liked better about it than Hateful Eight. I enjoyed both though. Django had some better pacing throughout most of it, except for an end that maybe dragged a little. A lot of people complained a lot about the end. It didn't bother me, but I can see it as a valid complaint. And Waltz, Dicaprio, and Samuel L were awesome in Django. There was nothing wrong with the acting. Samuel L's character was way better in Django than in Hateful Eight imo.

Django (while not a great movie) is one of the most entertaining movies of all-time. The pacing is perfect. It's so B-movie funny.
Hateful 8 wants to be a semi-serious One-Act play and fails.
It's tedious and way too long and the dialogue isn't even that interesting.
I'd rather watch My Dinner with Andre again than the Hateful 8.
Django will be the new Shawshank on TBS the next 20 years (albeit, heavily edited)

I completely disagree. The dialouge I thought was great in Hateful 8.
I liked both movies.
Probably one of my favorite parts of Hateful 8 was everytime someone came through the door and everyone would just start SCREAMING to shut it haha.

That's fine.
We're all different - which is why there is no best, etc.
I just found the first half very tedious uninteresting dialogue and then the second half was Kill Bill (1st movie).
Django on the other hand, opens with a bang and the dialogue is great. Just my preferene...Tarantino has always been at his best when he is tongue and cheek.
I thought Hateful 8...he was at his worst. Just pure violence and no wink wink to the audience.

I'd watch django 10 times out of 10 between the two. Django was Great. Hateful 8 was very disapointing. I wouldn't watch H8 again if you paid me.

The KKK white clan sheet scene in Django is the best he's ever written. It's his apex. To come up with that idea and turn hatred into a comedy was inspired.
It changes the whole movie and you realize you're watching a well-crafted spoof. Django is the movie Tarantino was born to make...and you can see in his previous films he is leading up to his magna opus.

yeah at least django had good scenes
i truly do not care for hateful 8 and was very let down.
hateful 8 is absolutely not better than django.. i don't really care to see either any more, but if i did.. it would be parts of django.

Totally agree, though I thought the violence was way too over the top for the tone of the first half of the movie. QT should have shown restraint. As for Django, it just lags too much in the second half, and at that point, the revenge genre was just getting tiresome from QT, at least for me.
Of course, the allure of the new may be fooling me here and I'll revise at a later point.
I prefer Death Proof to Django and even Reservoir Dogs. All are well worth the watch though.
My rank:
Pulp Fiction
Kill Bill
Jackie Brown
Inglorious
Hateful 8
Death Proof
Reservoir Dogs
Django

The first hour of Django Unchained is Citizen Kane compared to the three hours of The Hateful Eight.

Except hateful 8 turned into a really shitty movie about 2 hours in because Tarontino is an immature bitch.
Inglorious was my last QT movie. I don't think I need to see anymore.

He pretty much reinforced this notion with his anti-cop rant and continuing with the debunked "hands up, don't shoot" meme.

After watching Hateful Eight twice now - it still disappoints me. As some posters have said, the dialogue truly isn't that interesting. You can tell what scenes are meant to be eery and somewhat intense, but it didn't work this time around. Don't get me wrong, this was definitely not his worst (Death Proof), but I think he needs to simply get out of the Western genre and touch on something else. He's done with Westerns in my opinion.
He tried to make this Resevoir Dogs in a cabin rather than a warehouse.

I have a problem. I want to see this but I want to protest against the QT for the BLM stuff. Is 1Channeling it protesting enough?
