You do realize it is a series and not a movie. Of course it has to be expanded to fill the time. We won't know until it comes out if they use the material from the books that was left out or if they create new stories for modern audiences like Rings of Power.

Until we see it, we won't know which direction they took.

And how would you know? I'm not saying once release it won't turn out to be trash like Rings of Power but from the trailer, the only change is the race swapping.

Now if they make Snape evil because racist white wizards treated him terrible as a child, then yeah, you were right. But at this point we simply don't know.

I'm not going to assume everything is trash before it comes out. Well, it was obvious with Starfleet Academy but the trailer doesn't make Potter look like trash.

However, it is missing some of the wonderment from the Original but that could simply be we've already seen it on screen so nothing will be as immersive and impressive as the first movie.

Let me guess, you were one of the large number of people in the tigerdroppings bubble that screamed for years that Captain Marvel was a failure for Marvel depite making over a billion dollars on a 150 million budget simply because you didn't like it?

Big budget HBO shows historically do not flop. You might not like this, I might not like it, it might not be good, but it's going to get a boatload of viewers and be extremely popular. HBO and a extremely well loved established IP go well together, like it or not.
