Billy Madison is my favorite, much like Batman Begins will always be my favorite over the Dark Knight. Both Happy Gilmore and Dark Knight are classics, but without the predecessor, these movies would have never been made. Not that Madison was a huge box office smash, but it firmly entrenched him as a comedic talent.

To the person who said Madison is the worst of his early work, I dare you to watch Going Overboard and get back with me.

I've often wondered why Sandler takes easy paydays with the soft movies he puts out now, when he had a perfectly viable sequel to Billy Madison in the works. He could easily go to college and that be a movie unto itself. Same thing with Gilmore. Maybe a hockey team who is desperate to sell tickets finds out about Happy's love of hockey and gives him a contract. Then Boom! Happy Gilmore 2

Stiller is the best part of HG.

"My fingers hurt."

"Oh, well now your back's gonna hurt, cuz you just pulled landscaping duty. Anybody else's fingers hurt?"

I find it odd that people can hate one and love theother though. HG and BM are extremely similar movies...it's the same brand of humor in both movies. I'd think you either love them both or hate them both. It's weird to me that some people have them split.

I love both movies, but Billy Madison has held up much better. I got it over gilmore easily

Billy Madison. Hotter chick

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT

At the time of the movie, maybe, but JUlie Bowen definitely has aged well...

I like both but I'm going with Billy Madison:

"No I will not make out with you. Did ya hear that? this girl wants to make out with me in the middle of class. You got Chlorophyll Man up there talking about God knows what and all she can talk about is making out with me. I'm here to learn, everybody, not to make out with you. Go on with the chlorophyll."

"Back to school. Back to school, to prove to Dad that I'm not a fool. I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don't get in a fight. Ohhhh, back to school. Back to school. Back to school. Well, here goes nothing."

"Shampoo is better. I go on first and clean the hair. Conditioner is better. I leave the hair silky and smooth. Oh, really, fool? Really. Stop looking at me swan"

Gilmore is head and shoulders above Madison.

There are only a few scenes from Madison that are worthy of Gilmore:

"Oh...I see what's goin' on here, Mister Penguin!"

"Everybody's doing it! It's the coolest!"
