I just recently watched it. Decided to give it a try. It's good for the nostalgia, but you're not missing anything outstanding if you don't watch it.
Lots of callbacks to HG1 and tie-ins, recycling old characters, or establishing new characters as family of characters from the original. Some fun moments but I don't see myself watching it again.

I’ll agree with you on that. Went in with low expectation, was entertained, until the ending. It was just dumb. Didn’t realize until later that the villian was Bennie Safdie, great writer and director.

it's a goofy movie that was never going to live up to the original HG. Dont go in with high expectations and it'll be fine. Ending was dumb af.

I enjoyed it well enough, but I'm not sure I'd call it very good. Lots of throwbacks; some work, some don't. But all in all it's solid enough if you go in with low expectations.
I agree that Bad Bunny is actually sort of hilarious in it.
But the final LIV-style tournament thing was just so overly cartoonish and stupid, it definitely takes the movie down a peg or two for me. They could've done a way more straightforward tournament and made it work much better. But they didn't.

I freaking loved it. Have watched it several times.
Not sure why it gets hate. The scenes at the muni course were my favorite. Everytime I play now and someone says “good shot”. I just respond “yea, been taking lessons at the golf hut”. Flip that pancake Sally.
