Is this a series similar to the film some years back? If so, what channel/streaming service is it airing?

Watched it. The first episode was not unlike the beginning of the movie. The movie from a few years back was okay, but never reached the level of great action flick. Hopefully this series can flesh it out a bit and make Hanna a more interesting character.

And before the question arises, no, Hanna is not a Mary Sue. She spends her entire young life in brutal training. I think the series has great potential.

I enjoyed it. Pretty much lines up with the film.

Saorise Ronan is a terrific actress, one of the best in the world right now. Best actress in the world doesn't necessarily translate to best action movie star though. Michelle Rodriquez isn't so great as a dramatic actress, even when she shows her hoo-ha on screen, but she's solid as an action star.

The movie also couldn't quite make up its mind if wanted to be an action movie or more of a really odd character piece. So it sort of wound up being neither.

The full season will be released on Friday.

I really enjoyed the movie. And there was that creepy song.
