I think a trilogy would be great. Hopefully it actually does end there. Like, actually ends. I doubt it though.

I bet that’ll definitely be the end of DGG/Danny McBride. That envisioned a trilogy and that’ll probably be what they get.

It really needs to lay dormant at least 20 years, if not longer, since we have been getting sequels and reboots semi-regularly since about 1982.

No doubt of it.
The great thing about slasher flicks for Hollywood producers is that you can get a good bang for your buck. They are relatively inexpensive to produce (the latest Halloween film was budgeted at just $10 million) and can make it rain if done well. Halloween (2018) brought in 25 times the amount of money it cost to produce. Greenlighting these sequels was an easy decision.
