Everything you have said is correct the writing fundamentally sucks but again the bigger issue is there is too much content and it is impossible to care about any of the current characters or timeline. They rope a dope us at every turn, kill characters and then bring them back to life, introduce some new biggest baddest bad guy, oh there is another world/reality, at some point you stop caring.

This.
Without mentioning superpowers, Describe Steve Rogers. Tony Stark. Natasha Rominoff.
Now do Carol Danvers. Shang-Chi. Cassandra Lang.

Shang-Chi.
For the most part, they did a good job with the setup for this character.
The bus scene alone separates it from most of the recent films.
Shame they didn’t know how to make the second half of the movie and ending any good.

They had built a good father/son conflict story.
But because the CGI people had been working on a giant dragon setpiece since before the movie started shooting, they had to shoehorn it into the plot.
One of the issues with trying to pump out so many movies so quickly.
This was part of Bob Chapek's obsession with announcing new projects at every investor day, D23 event, etc. He always wanted to announce something new, and pushed them to release more than 2 marvel movies a year.
