Just finished watching. What a sadistic, cold bastard he is.
Chigurh really is not sadistic. He does live by a different code. This guy puts it pretty well:
quote:
I see Chigurh not as a sadistic and psychopathic, but strangely principled, hit man for hire, but rather I see him as life. I see him as fate, I see him as an unsympathetic God. Not an all powerful God, just a God that has power over us and travels with us. The instances of the coin toss being fate. Good people who suffer disease or accident. Like the toss of a coin. What did the hapless gas station attendant do? Marry into run down gas station? He ran into fate.
Chigurh’s main purpose in walking with us is policing the basic moral code. Don’t violate the code, and you can go on your way. Violate the code, and, you are accountable. You can run, but you can’t hide.

Norman Bates is probably the most famous.
My vote goes to either the Joker or Tyler Durden though.

Maybe technically he is a psychopath, but that doesn't discount the fact that he was fricking crazy. The first time watching, I was always on edge when his character was on screen; you never knew what he was going to do.

Woody Harrelson and Juliet Lewis
