Like I've before said...I'll be a 48 year old woman with kids in high school by the time book 8 is finished and I was 5 when the first book came out.

I hope they show Melisandre lighting some shite up with her fire magic. That would be badass.

She said they wouldn't have lost at Kings Landing if she were there. Time to show what you got, Big Red.

One of the blogs on this (possible 8 books) this week said only GOT fans would be pissed by this news. Most book series fans would say "Yay, more books!" GOT fans are more like "Are you fricking kidding me?!"

So, in other wonderful news, GRRM's editor has confirmed we're not getting WoW this year, and that it may be expanded to 8 instead of 7 novels.

Well, looks like we'll all be Hodors next year.

As far as TWOW not being this year and GRRM adding another book - I'm starting to think maybe he's hit some kind or a wall or block on the story or lost his mojo on it. Certainly hope not

You are just starting to think this? GRRM hit a wall/block a long time ago, back when he was writing AFFC. He's been fairly clueless about how to handle the Dany transition this entire time, and it's shown completely both in the amount of overextended storylines he had in AFFC to put off fixing his "Mereenese Knot" as well as how terrible the Mereen parts of ADWD were.

I'd take Arya and the Hound for sure in that situation. The others are much too treacherous and easily bribed. As long as I don't do anything deplorable, I'd be alright around Arya, and think I'd be bad for the Hound. Jaime pre-hand removal would be highly treacherous and backstab me in a heartbeat.

I don't. 7 is the right number. 7 Gods, 7 Kingdoms, 7 Starks, 7 Kingsguard, 7 men facing 3, 77 dishes, etc. I just really think next book should wrap up the stuff going on in the South, get Dany to Westeros, and have the stage set for the Others taking over Westeros. The 7th Book should be focused on the Others, how no one saw this coming, and the ones that did resolving this issue and gaining the loyalty of the realm as a result.

Should be a great episode

Does anyone else like how they portray Thorne in the show?? In the books, it's just about how much he hates Snow. I don't recall him being as big a character in the book. And he's more badass in the show IMO.

They've definitely done a better job of making him less of a one note villain for sure.

They should've spent more time on why he hates Jon so much though.
