Like why did they have to make the motivation for returning to the Twins to get more soldiers to go after Casterly Rock? Why couldn't it just be like the books; a stop to repair the alliance on the way to retaking the North? And IIRC the Karstarks weren't half of Robb's army in the books. They were a significant chunk, but it's not like he didn't all of sudden lose half his army.

If he was going back home it may seem like his storyline is coming to a close. This way, he's licking his wounds but trying to fix it and continue fighting. I don't mind it too much.

I hated the change from "i'm honorable" to "I totally want to frick a nurse" as what led him to breaking the oath though. Made me feel like he deserved what is coming.

Loved the episode. The look in Arya's eyes during her scenes, damn, she's good.

eta: reAryaAxeTohead, same thing. I tried to read the next chapter and made it about 4 words before I started to flip forward to find another one of hers.
Ned: *drop book* Wow
RW: *throw book* Son of a bitch...
Arya: Nope, nope frick that, nope she better not be dead you fat frick, nope

Anybody looking at the non reader thread? I think we have a couple covert book readers in there planting red wedding seeds.

bedt to not even point them out. Yurintrouble shouldn't have done that and things would be smooth.

I think we should let them have that thread. But some people just can't help it.

You are correct, in the books the slave owners made the Unsullied choose a new name every day from a barrel so they would have no sense of identity. And Grey Worm stuck with that name because it was the name he had on the day Dany freed them.

Otherwise, the scene was exactly the same as the books, speech and all.

I also loved the introduction of the friction between Arstan (Ser Barriston) and Jorah. Jorah getting all high and mighty about protecting Khaleesi was classic, considering that Barrison knows he agreed to attempt to assassinate her.

I think the stupidity of changing Robb's storyline to "I wanna frick that nurse" predisposes me to not liking even the small changes they make to the rest of his story. It just strikes me as odd.

And didn't season 1(accurately) show that Frey's levies actually joined Robb's army? Then why the hell does he think he can get more soldiers there? Maybe that's what is annoying me; the inconsistency between the seasons.

I don't thin he is a reader, just a Rob Stark fan. Hell without knowledge of the RW we would be behind him as well.

Casterly Rock would be a nice prize.

Had he married a Frey, and not made his dad's dumb decisions and also left a garrison at home he would probably be king of Westeros by now.

Was Selmy ever there in the show though? He claimed to not be part of the council meetings, which makes sense based on what they have set up. It would make little sense for Selmy to hide the knowledge from Dany and just randomly bring it up down the road.

He posted here 5 pages ago or so, but never responded so it could have been the wrong thread.

I thought Selmy was part of the discussion, or at least in the room with Ned trying to argue to not send someone to kill Dany. Definitely could be remembering wrong though.

Meh, 2 straight episodes of blatant sympathy spoon-feeding from the writers isn't enough for me. What was with the weird pass out in the bath? That was a touch over dramatic...

I so want to respond to this in the other thread. How could you miss that the character of Jaime Lannister is going through a total transformation?

Also, I don't recall the blatant gay scene in the book. They can hint at it, but I don't need to see gratuitous cock that was not in the books.

that's who pointed out that she thought aaron was a reader. Seemed to expect something coming up. She shouldn't have pointed that out.

Robb, Theon, and Bad Luck Brian could be given a question with A, B, or C as the answer and still frick it up.
