Always thought it was kind of weird he didn't go with Robb to KL. Really expected him to make a show entrance even if it was just to take Sam's place in telling or confirming to Jon who he was.

btw, im not hating on you as a poster. ive always enjoyed your posts, but GOT talk can bring out some heated discussions

Yeah, same with the majority of y’all as well. It can get heated especially after day drinking. I just really, really did not see the Arya thing coming and was really looking forward Azor Ahai/Prince that was Promised prophesy coming into fruition. It didn’t, so I felt quite betrayed by D&D (and GRRM if this is what he does if he manages to finish them).

Hell the cover for tWoW is already confirmed to be the horn he acquired.

Is that confirmed? Because I thought that was the Horn of Winter.

I'm okay with Ayra killing the NK the only thing I would have liked is him wrecking a few people in combat before she offed him. He had to die for the story to wrap up. There are tons of shite D&D left out of the books that probably cleans a lot of this mess up.

a battle that decimated the north's population following a mini-war following a mass execution following a multi-year, national civil war changed nothing?

He has the dragon horn, which I also think will be used. I’d rather Euron have a dragon than the Night King.

Maybe GRRM is not showing his cards, but he seems to indicate that the major plot point endings in the TV show match the books:

quote:

George R.R. Martin: The series has-- has-- been extremely faithful, compared to 97 percent of all television and movie adaptations of literary properties. But it's not completely faithful. And-- and it can't be. Otherwise, it would have to run another five seasons.

quote:

I don't think Dan and Dave's ending is gonna be that different from my ending because of the conversations we-- we did have.

My bad that makes sense because he got it from the ruins of Old Valaryia (spelling?)

Are they going to buy more people to repopulate?

There’s not much/no infrastructure

You want the last hearth? Go take it and fix it yourself

There’s no FEMA in Westeros

Tell me again how the iron bank would rather fight on the side of the people with dragons while having a deal in place with Cersei

I actually agreed with D&D in that it would have been kind of meh/predictable to have Jon kill him. A fight would have been nice but given the setting, anybody that would have tried to fight him in the end would have gotten murdered asap with his crew around him.

I try not to predict stuff with GOT but im %100 sure this is not how GRRM has it going. I think he dies maybe earlier than most expect, but I cant see him having Arya be the one to do the deed at all. The post credits comments even confirm. With the "hold the door" stuff they said that was George, but with this they talked about debating how they should do it and that Arya just felt right to them. I took it as that was all them.

I can’t imagine having 100k+ rutting dead bodies outside of your castle is going to be great for the farmer community.

That’s not including the lose of talent, manpower, knowledge and skill thru a good decade of war

Yeah it’s predictable but satisfying. Like Endgame was decently predictable, but extremely satisfying and true to the characters. Yes, Arya is definitely capable of killing NK, but it just doesn’t feel right and Maisie Williams (at least initially) agreed.

What? Cersei has no dragons

The Iron Bank/GC are aligned with Cersei to fight against JonDan

You said the IB/GC would rather fight with the side with dragons, yet they made a deal to fight against them

Bran is the three eyed raven theory

This theory is picking up a lot of steam and is very intriguing. Makes Bran extremely OP though.

Of things that were not happy endings? Yes

Please enlighten me

did you not follow your conversation with SFP. He was talking about how DandD were turning the show into a feel good happy ending story. Then you gave examples of the show that followed source material written by Martin.

do you not see that?
