It's no different than having a bunch of randoms besides Thorne and Olly being the ones to Betray him. They've only developed like 10 people at the wall and like 7 of them are dead
Who was it that was convinced last season that Edd would be a part of the betrayl? Blueboy?

It seemed really clumsy to have Davos and a bunch of randos (plus Edd) as the Snow loyalists.
Well - thus far, they've punted Manderly/White Harbor altogether, as well as the hunt for Rickon. Davos is a popular character. Either kill him or give him something to do.
I would have had him survive the battle, link up with Brienne, and take Sansa back to the wall, but I'm not saying that's the only thing for Davos that makes sense.
Hell, it's way better than Dorne. That's a new phrase I'm trying out: "Better than Dorne, at least on the show" - to describe something of minimal, but positive value.

If it was blueboy there's a good chance he was just trolling.

It's the new "at least we're not Cleveland."

But if it was, it's because I thought they were going to kill him for desertion, like in the book. In that context, it would have been Edd's duty to stab Jon.

How will that work now that Jon is dead?

The bastard letter has no meaning now. It's real Sansa, not Faux Arya. She's already escaped. Mance Rayder is dead. There was no mission with him and the spearwives. Stannis is dead and that version of the battle for Winterfell is over.
And Jon had to die. I've come to grips with that. That's the only way he gets out of that oath, stubborn sonofabitch.

I mean, no one knows he's dead except the Watch. He could be revived by the time the lette arrives.

i'm thinking that Melisandre doesn't sacrifice herself, rather Jon is born back while being burned.
similiar to Danaerys and the dragons. obviously this would expose Jon's Targaeryan lineage.

Danys magical Pyre didn't have anything to do with her being Targareryn

Personally, I don't see what the significance is of the letter as the show has deviated from the source material. Maybe we still see some written rant, purportedly from Ramsey. Fan theories abound if he even penned the thing or had it penned. It's just assumed because - whatever the source - Jon is supposed to think that Ramsey sent it.

Im calling BS on RR Martin on this one. It has everything to do with her being the last dragon. Viserys was a Targ but not a "Dragon". The bread crumbs are there, the boiling hot baths, the dragon eggs that just came out the fire.
