Theories are considered spoilers on here as well unless 100 percent of the information came directly from the show.
They are touchy about the Roberts rebellion stuff that's on the DVD extras on the show.

All of the extras from the DVD sets (especially the History and Lore thingies) are on YT so that's their own damn fault.

I mean, they have a point. Not their fault that D&D are hacks. Really other than R+L=J(and that's being very generous), I can't think of one theory that could be formed by only watching the show.
The only reason some hodors know more is they read theories and material written online by book readers. Show watchers shouldn't have to buy DVDs for extra content to learn crucial information that should be in the show.
D&D have proven they don't care about the books, so why should hodors?

Do you put in the time to buy DVD sets for extra content to learn the backstory of every show you watch? Not every hodor is obsessed with Game of Thrones to put that much time into a show if they haven't read the books.
What the hodors don't know falls on the show's writing.

The same people who don't want to seek out that info are the same ones that would be bored to death at the show if it had included every intricacy and detail from the book

I agree. Theories are spoilers for hodors because there is really no way to reach these theories based solely on content from the show.

Not necessarily. Simply adding TOJ flashback to season 1 gives the audience a much better background while still entertaining them. I know many hodors who were focused on the wrong storylines because they simply weren't given the required information to know better.

I think Howland Reed emerges from Greywater and becomes a major character before its all said and done.
