Plus they were well rested and fed. I'm sure Bolton had a nice size force still in the castle as well, in case they needed to fall back. Stannis led his men to a slaughter.. again..

Another view on the ending, GRRM has said he doesn't like black and white character's. Meaning there isn't necessarily a good and bad side. We know very little about the WW's, and a large part of the next few seasons could be their POV (fingers crossed). They could simply be closing some of the story loops, and get into the meat very soon.

I'm sure it has been brought up in this thread, but I didn't find anything in the search, so....
Does anyone think the blood from Jon Snow formed a Dragons wing at the end???
I think it's starting to become clear that Jon Snow is a Song of Fire(Targaryian) & Ice(Stark).......
So when (and these are stricly my thoughts on what I think will happen) Melisandra brings him back to life, he will no longer be Jon Snow, but he will be Jon Targaryian

I don't think things will be cool from the get-go but I think she will eventually win them over. With maybe some help from Drogon and Jorah/Daario.

That was her wedding ring to Khal Drogo
D&D talked about it in the post credits and said she took it off because "she's smart", so she doesn't want to come off as an already used Khaleese (Jorah mentioned a place where they put all former Khaleeses after Drogo is dying) and in case she needs to marry a Khal again
