At least three characters on this show have either come back from the dead outright or lived after being presumed dead. Unless you're a book reader I don't understand why you are so adamant.
Never opened a GOT book in my life. It's just honestly dumb to think he or Tywinn lived based on what we just watched.
We never saw Lysa Tully die technically. A three eyed raven could've swooped in to save her

The Moutain didn't die 10 miles away from anyone that could possibly help.

It would be dumb if this was a documentary. I just think it's silly to be so absolute about a fantasy show that features walking dead, giants, and dragons.

I was about to rage quit when Brienne kicked the Hound's arse but George RR Martin redeemed himself with Tryion fricking shite up. I actually kinda thought Jamie might have been setting him up after his scene with Cersei but I was pleasantly surprised. I wish Tyrion had killed Cersei instead but I was certainly happy to see Tywin die on the crapper.
Now I just hope he and Arya meet up somewhere and just spend the rest of the series going around assassinating people.
ETA: I don't think the Hound is dead yet. Too important of a character to die off screen IMO.

What exactly makes him important?

Screen time, unsettled business with the Lanisters and his brother.
I mean, it could just be wishful thinking but I don't think we've seen a character of that magnitude die off screen.

Im not ignoring the fantasy aspect of the show, I understand they have plenty of that, but they use that to move the plot forward, keeping the hound alive doesn't do that. He had no story left now that Arya is gone
He had two things going against him
1) he was a like able character
2) he knew Arya Stark
That shite will get you killed almost as fast as having the name "Ned Stark" will

I think it can safely be concluded that Shae was a dumb arse. Her character seemed so smart and clever when she was first introduced in season one but it seems now, at least looking back in retrospect, she only seemed intelligence because Tyrion couldn't figure out how she ticked in the early going.
How could someone intelligence miss the obvious signs that Tyrion was just saying those mean things to protect her? In the end, Westeros is rid of another dumb whore who bit off more than she could chew. What's more, all of this would have been avoided if she wasn't so damn stupid.

How did Stanis get that huge army on the other side of the wall?
did they all go through that tunnel?

Mountain as he knows him is dead, and he would be no match for the Moutain under regular circumstances, let alone when he's beat to shite from Brienne and the Moutain is a damn zombie.
He hates the lannisters but he wants no part in Kings Landing, he gives no shite about what they do up there, that's why he walked out in black water. Plus the Lannisters are damn near extinct at this point
And if screen time made you important and kept you alive in this show, Ned stark would still be the hand of the king

Because the only connection he had to the story is on a boat to Bravvos.

I don't see this. At this point in the show, his entire story seemed to be as part of Arya's "coming of age". His death would be kinda symbolic in that she's ready to move on on her own. The only Hound story stuff that would be unfinished would be his revenge against his brother, which seems kinda minor.
Speaking of the Mountain, I thought they had a bit of symbolism going with him - he was representative of the Lannister's power. Casterly Rock is even built on a mountain, no? When we assumed he was poisoned and dying, so too did it appear the Lannister's power was waning (gold mine running dry and such). Now that he's apparently coming back as a Frankenstein, perhaps the Lannisters are due for a resurgence.
I'm also glad Bran's story is finally getting interesting. I was getting sick of the mysterious tree journey that's been going on forever. Maybe he'll become a badass wizard and fly around shoving fireballs up people's asses.
