I saw your post before your edit and I'm with you on that theory. I think it makes so much sense and would be badass if it becomes true.

I'm curious to when JS starts questioning his lineage again.
I think the tree Bran is on his way to find will tell him all sorts of info. That first vision was just a peek into what Bran can see through it.
I hope Bran makes it to the tree before this season is over or I will be pissed.

I wouldn't be surprised if we are done seeing bran this season. Same with Ramsay/reek and pod/Brienne

So Lonestar might be a real prince? Do you think he'd really go that route after all of the dead "heroes" we've seen?

Well guys, I just placed my order for the books so I won't post on this thread anymore and I can't look at the literate thread until I finish reading them all :-(

What do you think is the possible reason?
Ned's Brother(Lord Stark)was to be married to Kat, then he got killed to start the war. Since his brother had no heirs, Ned become Lord.
however if neds bro had an heir, he would become lord...and Kat would have to raise another woman's child to be Lord, and put her own children second.
I think this may have been why Ned kept it a secret....she was going to have to accept Jon regardless....but this way, she is still a "lady stark" and her children would be nobility.
Just a guess, but it makes sense to me as to why he hid Jon's parents from Kat. The other "theories", just put the secrecy on basically that Ned couldn't trust her to keep the secret, and not due to something that would hurt her children.

This thread is getting iffy at best.

Nah, man. They need to get to the tree this season. Perhaps in E10 they will get there. Next episode is the huge castle black battle so I won't mind if Bran doesn't make an appearance at that time, but it will be lame if they space his journey there over 2 seasons.

Yes - unabridged the first book is 33 hours, 50 minutes.
(I considered it for a long car trip this summer.

Well the show has done a good job showing the guilt that Ned has in fathering a bastard especially when you compare it to King Robert who clearly didn't care about fathering many children that were bastards.

well the more "theories" there are , the more it clouds actual spoilers....even if some ASSHAT posts a spoiler it may just get filed away as another random "theory"
It's why I wonder about people who get so upset about my theories...it's like they are thinking to themselves..."this guy is an idiot, he thinks blah,blah,blah..when I already know it's blah, blah, blah." because seeing and knowing an incorrect theory makes them feel so superior.
It's like these people think they are smart because they looked at the back of the book for the answer, and are sitting there all proud of themselves for knowing the answer. I'm working out the problem on my own from the info we get in the show, not going to the answer page in the back.
Notice how no one sees a way that Jon could be Ned's Brothers....they all "randomly" picked up on an obscure scene in a funeral chamber and magically came to the conclusion that ________. ya dig?

I get what you are saying, but literally no one knows the answer to that question, so it can't be spoiled.

This thread is getting ridiculous.
Look, this show obviously has so many complex storylines. GRRM put so much time in creating extensive backgrounds of the characters and writing the history before where the series picked up at that, as a Hodor, it's perfectly acceptable to read into those backgrounds to get a better grasp on what's going on.
That's why readers say they enjoy the show more. It's because they know WAY more about the characters/what's going on than we do. I might cross over and read the books as well after this season is over.

I think I'm going to do this too. I've read about the histories of the families, I guess that makes me a reader to some people here. I suppose you have to be a full on Hodor and not have read anything about the show in order to satisfy some people in this thread.
