He was a great character played by a great actor.
I loved him because he gave zero fricks about anything but fricking and revenge. Dude was a badass, and despite the outcome he kicked the Mountain's arse.

I am surprised at how attached some of you were to Oberyn as he hasn't even been on the show for a complete season
yeah, and he likes boys too...where'd all the love for this dude come from? Glad he's dead, he only played one type of character. Now Hound can kill the Mountain.
Tryion still can't be sent to the wall? Why doesn't the whole, "ask for mercy and be sent to the wall" thing still apply?
he ended the trial by saying trial by combat.....it was just two different ways of being
found guilty/not guilty

What the frick.
I was so wrong about the fight. I thought Oberyn was 100% winning mainly because of how irrelevant the Mountain has been and how much time we spent with Oberyn. But wtf. That was the most unsettling and disturbing thing I think I've ever seen on TV or film. frick you Cersei. I'm gonna be so pissed if Tyrion dies.

Why? He was one of the only masculine good character to root for in a sea of people involved in killing off and torturing the starks.
Most other storylines are boring or incapable of affecting kings landing

Just thought of the irony of Sandor laughing at Arya being mad she didn't get kill or at least watch Joff die (which feels like ages ago) when Sandor himself wants the same regarding the Mountain

As much as I want to punch the people that do this show in the face sometimes, they just can't kill Tyrion
I mean...right?

He was one of the few characters with a genuinely pure, unambitious motive.

For the first time in the show I saw this one coming. He said in the beginning that the Mountain couldn't die before admitting what he'd done, and he hadn't done so when he was put on his arse.
As much as Oberyn was toying around with him, it became clear he wouldn't win. Obviously I didn't see the graphic death coming, but I knew something ridiculous would happen and he'd lose.

Probably Varys.
This would come back to his last words to Tyrion at the trial.

Unfortunately, people are spoiling the frick out of what happens to him on FB, Twitter and this thread. I think he appeared to die and everyone thought it was kosher to spill the beans.
