I think if they were goin to kill him due to the trial, they wouldve already done it

It takes all the suspense out of it if he dies after this

Some of it is referenced in the subsequent dialogue. I'm using Game of Thrones wiki to refresh my memory.

I just don't remember them saying on the show that Edmure was a hostage of Frey's and Blackfish was back at Riverrun. I guess they might have but I watched the last 2 episodes of season 3 a shite ton.

I don't know if this is confirmed - but where would Blackfish go? He survived, right? He's not going to head to Winterfell or King's Landing.

I remember Walder talking with Roose about Brynden's escape and how a Frey was supposed to be made Lord of Riverrun. There is no mention of Edmure having been killed.

I assumed since neither were killed on camera they were alive. That is also making me think Syrio could somehow still be alive. Although not sure how.

I also got that vibe at the time. The thing that goes against it is - he said he would not run, and we saw Trant later, alive. So he didn't win the fight. If he didn't run - perhaps he was put into custody, but that's unlikely. I'm in the, "He's probably dead, but I wouldn't be shocked if he survived in some weird circumstances" camp. There are a ton of crackpot theories about Syrio, too.

I believe Walder said that Edmure was down in the dungeons but I never heard any mention of Blackfish.

From Mysha ( transcript):

quote:

"The late Walder Frey," old Tully called me because I didn't get my men to the Trident in time for battle.

He thought he was witty.

Look at us now, Tully. You're dead, your daughter's dead, your grandson's dead, your son spent his wedding night in a dungeon and I'm Lord of Riverrun.

( laughs )

The Blackfish escaped.

An old man on the run with no allies.

I have Tywin Lannister backing me.

- Who does he have?
- As you say.

Blackfish went to piss and escaped the RW. Edmure is being held hostage by the Freys...it was mentioned in some dialogue an episode or two after the RW.

I assume that's coming...I'd think it has to be, unless GRRM just creates chaos for absolutely no reason (which would make for some weird story telling).

I assume Walder Frey will get what's coming to him. And I hope Arya/Hound somehow can dish it out (even though that's doubtful since they are travelling in the complete opposite direction).

It involves the Mountain, that's all I'll say.

The actor playing the Mountain must have only been cast because he's big. Guy hasn't had a single line this season. He will probably just grunt or something.

The Mountain has already had 3 actors. He is one of those characters that is more effective when discussed by others, than by his actual presence - in my opinion.

Conan Stevens - Season 1

Ian Whyte - Season 2 (Season 3?)

Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Season 4 - but has not appeared yet).

This third casting is really the best just on looks alone IMO.
