Tyrion did promise Cersei a season or two back, that when she least expected it, he would get her back for the shite she had done to him. That it would be when she least expected it and that her joy would turn to ash in her mouth.

And a Lannister always pays his debts.

Yeah but she's also admitted a few times what a monster Joffrey was. It's certainly not outside the realm of possibility.

Except, you know, the whole killing her son thing.

I don't remember that. What was Tyrion pissed about?

Tyrion did give grandma a look when he picked up the goblet to hand to Joff.

Also with Cersei, "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die."

She was also calling herself queen at the reception before the poisoning. And maybe Jamie knew, bc he told the Tyrell boy that he wasn't getting married to Ceresi.

Tyrion's look of complete confusion as he picked up the cup as Cersei began blaming him makes him totally innocent in my book. Who knows though

IIRC, that was about the imposter whore that Tyrion tricked Cersei into thinking was his lover. Therefore, the statement would be a bluff. If my memory serves correctly, that is.

Yeah like I said on the previous page, her actions throughout the episode coupled with her motive make her, in the ver least, look like a serious suspect.

Yep, but the way she said it to Sansa was as if you have no choice but to love your children. Not like she was happy about it because she said loving someone makes you weak.

She also had the conversation with Tyrion where she basically opened up about Joffrey being Jamie's son and that with a child of incest you're basically "flipping a coin" when you have a child out of incest as to whether that child with be normal or mad like the Mad King. Then Tyrion told her that she "beat the odds" because her other two children were good kids.

Then as they are under attack by Stannis, she flees to the iron throne with Tommen and the Night Shade and she tells him a story that makes it seem like she wishes Tommen was king instead of Joffrey.

Ya I don't think it was Tyrion either, and Jaime looked shocked and was running towards him and the first one there. Cersei is hard to read. Tywin gave Tyrion a look afterwards, but I think maybe he knows it wasn't him.

The only ones we saw touch the cup were Sansa, Tyrion, and grandma was closest to it before time, at least I think.

I think it was when Cersei had taken Rosalyn the whore captive thinking that was the whore he was in love with and Tyrion first thought that Cersei had Shae until they brought Rosalyn in.
Cersei told Tyrion any injuries Joffrey suffered fighting against Stannis she would give to his whore doubled.

But I'm not 100% certain that's when it was.

Let's talk about her actions, then.

If I miss any, let me know, but I think you are referencing these two events:

1. Her conversation with Brienne. She was jealous that Jaime is affectionate towards Brienne. Nothing more, IMO.

2. Her command to the maester. She has one final power trip as Queen Regent. And she still hates Margaryn, so she does this to spite her, as well.

I don't think it was any of the Lannisters and I think Tywin is smart enough and calm enough to rationally work out that it was not Tyrion.

I'm of the opinion that it was the Tyrell's but the whole "fool>necklace>sansa>Olenna>Joffrey" transfer of poison just doesn't make sense to me. At least not yet.

Yeah, that's when I thought it was too.

I don't think it was Tyrion because he had no way to know that Joffrey would make him the cup bearer and he looked shocked more so than anyone at what was happening.

It just seems like Joffrey dying solves almost every problem Cersei was having in the prior episode.

No more loss of power as she remains the Queen regent, no more marriage to the "pillow-biter", Tyrion (who she had already tried to kill allegedly) gets the blame.

It kinda seems like losing her psycho little a-hole of a son who she had lost control of long ago is a small price to pay for the rest of those solutions.

My money is still on the fool and Granny, though.

But she would have had no way of knowing Tyrion would be implicated like he was.

Right. A serendipitous coincidence is all that could have been for her, really.

Is there any chance the fool acted alone? I don't see how he could have, but I'm just spit balling here.

I can't help but think Littlefinger had something to do with it. Maybe Varys looked so nervous because on of his little birds mentioned something to him?

Hmm that's something I really hadn't even considered. He would definitely have motive for harming the Lannisters after they had Catelyn murdered.

The logistics of this poisoning are going to give me an aneurism.

Any chance it was the pie. Doesn't he start to cough/die after taking a bite? Do we even see him drink the wine (again, I need to rewatch the episode).
