that's fair. Im pretty good at staying on topic if you check my post history.

The only time it gets derailed is when i prove someone wrong and then they wanna shift goalposts and continue spewing bs rather than accept that they were wrong

As for other fun movie facts related to OP

There’s a little carved R2-D2 on the deck of the model of the pirate ship that sails away at the end of Goonies. I’ve seen it in person a couple of times. Very cool.

Frank Sinatra was offered the role of John McClain in Die Hard before Bruce Willis was.

Wow how bad would that have been?

When Weinstein’s Miramax acquired Princess Mononoke, he demanded the 135-minute film be cut down to 90 minutes for a “more marketable” release.

Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki responded by sending him a samurai sword engraved with two words: “No cuts.”

Furious, Weinstein threatened their careers, but Miyazaki held the rights - and his ground. The film was released exactly as intended.

While technically true, it was a technicality. Sinatra was in a movie in the 1960's that was essentially a prequel to Die Hard based on a series of novels, and the studio was contractually obligated to offer Sinatra the part for Die Hard because of some agreement signed 20 years prior when the first movie was made. Sinatra, 70, obviously declined.

More TCM trivia I just learned-

Icelandic-American actor Gunnar Hansen was selected for the role of Leatherface. He regarded Leatherface as having an intellectual disability and having never learned to speak properly. To research his character in preparation for his role, Hansen visited a special needs school and watched how the students moved and spoke. John Larroquette performed the narration in the opening credits for which he was paid in marijuana.

From wikipedia, I hope it's true.
