I really dislike the Russian driver for Williams
He drives (drove

He's a little prick that cant drive

Quit blaming it on the car, you just cant drive and you're only driving because your dad's money.
Him only making it 3 corners in the first race and spinning out alone at the back was so fitting. The F1 thread had a field day with that one. I was following the website mazesp.in for a good chunk of the season, which logged all of his spins and counted the minutes since his last spin
It was fun to hate on him. Still can't believe he survived Monaco.

Beat me to the edit. The last episode was about Williams so that was on my mind.

Yea that was hilarious. Guenther's reaction was pretty great. Just a simple "O for f**k's sake"

Yea I'm mad at myself for checking. Ugh.
Where I'm at so far in the season it looks like he's just starting to make a comeback.
I wonder if Bottas doesn't want to be on the show or Netflix just doesn't care about covering him. They don't talk about him at all.

I know Max abstained, it seemed like Alonso mostly did too as well as the entirety of Aston (aside from some Otmar). I can imagine it is a distraction that they don't want to deal with.
After covid the film crew has been limited to only certain teams on certain weekends, instead of all access. I think that certainly affects the storylines they can draw on, this season doesn't seem as good as the early ones (still solid) and I'm sure that limitation is a factor.

One of my big takeaways from this season is that Horner spends all of his free time strolling (or riding) through the English countryside with Ginger Spice. A little jealous, NGL.

I think that George Russell is an entitled little prick

Finished it last night. The ending was spoiled but man it was so close it got to the point where I was like dang, was the guy on TD just throwing me off?
6 laps left and Hamilton had it in the bag, I mean he was pulling away. What happened under caution was straight B.S. They make a decision to keep the lap cars back, then Christian complains like always and the decide to unlap the cars. Not all of them, just the 5 in front of Max. That's messed up.
Unless I have this wrong bc all the details I have are the show, but it just seems like the official can just make whatever call he wants and there aren't strict rules. Like, why is that even a judgement call? Seems like there should be a rulebook that defines what should happen there. If the rule is that they are allowed to unlap, then all of them should be able to. I find it hard to believe that the rule says only the cars in between number 1 and 2 are allowed to. Even Sainz said on the radio that that was ridiculous. Seems like the guy making the decision just went "Ahh who cares what the rules are, lets just let them race it out for one lap, that'd be cool."
Max is awesome, for sure, I just didnt like the way he won. It's not like i'm crazy about Hamilton, but I dislike Christian so I was rooting against Red Bull. He just complains too much. Toto said it good, he's like a little dog biting at your feet.
One question: Is the individual championship typically viewed more important than the team? The show made it seem like they were equally important all season, but at the end, they didn't even mention it, only the individual.

I think the intent was good, trying to get the winner-take-all finale to one of the most exciting championship battles in decades to end under racing conditions instead of under caution, but it was completely bungled in execution. Honestly, it shouldn't have come to that, they probably could have gotten the wreckage cleared quicker and not run the risk of ending under safety car.
I don't like the way Max won, but he was a deserving champion. He was the most dominant driver of the season; most race wins, most podiums, most poles (double HAM), and led more laps than the rest of the field combined. But Hamilton was deserving as well and probably should have gotten it.
quote:WDC is more important to the fans and is more marketable, but Constructors is more important to the teams.

RBR definitely wanted both, but it seemed like they realized at some point that the constructors probably wouldn't happen and went all in on Max.

One thing they didn't cover in the show was that it appeared Max pretty much had the championship sewed up after US and Mexico. He had the best car pretty much all season.
Mercedes brought an upgraded power unit to Brazil, and it was like putting a rocket engine in the back of the car. Lewis was basically unbeatable the last 4 races and had absolutely unbelievable straight-line speed.
He started the brazil sprint race p20 after a penalty, and still moved up 15 places in a 24 lap sprint. Took another penalty for the race to start p10 and just carved through the field like a hot knife through butter.
The "party mode" Merc engine was something else.

You red flag the race, let everyone get a free tire change and do a five lap sprint for the title. Who would have not enjoyed that?
