Great fricking Movie. Bale killed it.

Would’ve been even better if they included Foyt

I couldn’t get into it. Maybe it is because I couldn’t care less about cars or the history of them. A lot of the talk and lingo was lost on me. Bale seemed be to acting his arse off, though.
I grew up in a Ford family, Dad had a 64 1/2 (first edition) Mustang with a 289, and later he and my oldest brother got and tuned up a 69 Mach 1 with a 351 Windsor. Cars and the home garage mechanic stuff were part of my life; you forever remember the rumble of an engine.
*for those not into cars, the 69 Mach 1 is the car from John Wick. Ours was acquired as white with 2 black stripes; we stripped, sanded, primed, and painted it candy apple red metalflake. It would run mid-12 second quarter mile. It was a stunningly beautiful vehicle while it lasted.*
I really enjoyed this movie, because I always had an admiration of Shelby cars and the Ford GT. I don't know if the acting was great, but I do say, I stopped thinking about the characters as Damon and Bale, and they were Shelby and Miles to me by the time it was over. I guess that's all one can ask.

I just love documentaries and feature films about subcultures that I've had no interest in. If you told me there was a new, deep cut doc on the history of Beanie Babies... I'm in.
