This looks good considering the small piece they showed in the first season of Narcos.

They make it look like he started working for the DEA first.
He didn't start working as an informant until after he was busted for drug smuggling for the cartel in 1984.

I don't know much about Barry Seal other than he was some sort of smuggler, and any thread about him in the ot eventually turns into a shite show.
I take it he was from Louisiana? Anyone want to give me some cliffs on this guy?

I'll leave out a bunch, but basically he was from Baton Rouge. Started flying at a really young age, like 15. Started flying for drug smuggling. After being arrested and spending time in prison he became an informant. At some point he had to report to a building off of Airline Hwy in BR regularly and one night while there in his car in the parking lot he was shot up. Conspiracies exist on who ordered his murder ranging from the cartel to George W Bush I believe

Flew a Cessna up there a couple of years ago for an overhaul and paint job. Weird little town. Had to drive to the OK border in the plane mechanic's busted arse truck to get some beer.

Looks like they added a lot of Hollywood flavor but I bet it'll be an entertaining movie

I believe the most common conspiracy involved Bill Clinton. Clinton was the governor or Arkansas, where most of Seals deliveries landed.
He was supposedly making a killing off of letting the Coke come in thru Arkansas and they were involved in his death.

Not sure, but I read somewhere that this movie got some last minute changes. Supposedly it was very heavy on the Clinton's involvement. All of the Clinton stuff was scrubbed from the movie.
I have no idea if this it true, but that's the rumor making the rounds anyway.
