We had a DVD drive in our Gateway computer. We thought were such badasses watching a movie on our computer screen.
Are you me from another universe?

Probably Rushmore
Or... Behind the Green Door
I get those two movies mixed up.
Both so quirky.

Was an adult when I bought my first couple.
Terminator 2
The Last of the Mohicans
Stopped at a pawn shop on the way home from Best Buy and bought these:
The Lawnmower Man
The Road Warrior
Boyz n the Hood
Once I saw how cheap they were there, I bought a bunch of them at big pawn shops around DFW.

I bought my first DVD player in 1998. Dual disc Toshiba. Thought I was the stuff. Could go in Blockbuster and have my pick of the litter. No one else had one, yet. With my player purchase it had 7 free dvd's. Six Days Seven Nights, Starship Troopers, Lost in Space, Stargate, Lethal Weapon 4, can't remember the others.

I dont remember the first one I bought but as an early adopter I can remember only a few places rented them. The first DVD I watched was Starship Troopers. I rented it from Art Colleys.

First DVD player we got was in 2000 or 2001 I think. Movies were O’ Brother where art thou? and My dog skip. Couple we knew from church got it for us for Christmas.

I remember the first 4 I bought.
1. Spaceballs
2. The Sixth Day
3. Cast Away
4. O Brother Where Art Thou
ETA: My mom and brother bought the DVD player for my dad for Christmas in 2001 I think. They gave him The Patriot so that was my first DVD experience.

A dvd format demo disc from Suncoast; so many artifacts it could’ve killed the format.
Second was a cross country train journey disc.
