A different way to watch is to download the chronologically lost torrent and watch it in chronological order. I may do that again.

How does that change the experience?

If you watch it in reverse order, while listening to Pink Floyd, Hurley shows up at your house with a lottery ticket

A lot of the mystery is spoiled, you aren’t waiting for flashbacks. I wouldn’t advise it for a first watch, but it was an interesting experience for a rewatch.

But yeah, I can imagine if you already know about Dharma Initiative, hatch origins, Faraday, Myles, etc. it probably doesn't have the same "WTF is going?" on aspect.

this thread is awesome. How did you manage to watch season one in one day. How is that even possible.
I finished the first two seasons in like three days. My best friend said to buy the first season and if I didn’t love it that he’d give me $100. Well obviously fell in love with it and the show was amazing.

Like someone said, waiting for so long in between episodes and seasons, the internet just went fricking crazy overanalyzing every single aspect of everything. We literally talked about the significance of the number of threads on a baseball because there was a baseball in a scene at one point. shite like that. Most of it was so overly stupid, but that was half of the fun of it. This show is one that really helped open my eyes to watching something and discussing it ad nauseum via the internet. The discussions we had on here every single week were just flat out entertaining. The whole experience of watching Lost and talking about it on here was just plain fun.
this. Lost was probably the most fun and stressed I've ever been for a tv show. It was glorious. One of my all time favorites. With that said it can't be my favorite because of the ending and the creators not having an end game for something that was based on nothing but the end of the show. You're supposed to start ending a show like this answering questions after 5 years of people waiting on the edge of their seats for answers instead they started bringing in new characters and starting new questions when they couldn't even finish some. I regret nothing about the process but it didn't stick the landing anywhere near perfect for everything it was. IMO

See, I am a totally different viewer than you. And probably different than most. It absolutely is my favorite series of all time. And to be honest, it isnt really close. And I have watched most of the great series.
I honestly dont have a lot of questions left after the ending. I felt like the important stuff was answered. No show answers everything. There is no way they knew this show would turn out to be the hit it was. Nobody could've known that. It kind of grew along the way for us and for the writers.
I have probably watched the entire series 15 to 20 times. And will probably watch it again very soon. The plot of that show was certainly important and a big part of why we all loved it while watching every week, but the characters are what made that show. And I don't think they were any questions left about the characters.
No TV show that I have ever watched made me want the week to be over with as fast as when I was watching Lost. And even after watching it so much, I still get tons of enjoyment out of every rewatch.
I can understand why some people didnt like the ending but I thought it was fitting.
Of course, there was no way for them to end the show and satisfy everyone. In my opinion, it somewhat pull things back together.
IF someone here decides to do a rewatch thread, I am in. Totally in

Interesting. I’ve seen the series a time or two so maybe I’ll try this. Thanks

While it is not my favorite series, we actually went into the experience with the idea we would like the setup and get hopelessly confused by the end.
Because of that expectation, I suppose, we really enjoyed it. While I enjoy things like Memento, Mulholland Drive, etc., Mrs. Midnight usually doesn't. She enjoyed the twists and mysteries as well.
I didn't feel like a lot was unanswered at the end, so in hindsight, I'm not sure where all those memes about the "flash sideways" stuff come from. Sure, it is jarring (like Season 2 of The Wire is jarring), but not immersion breaking.
It deserves its place in the pantheon of great shows. Another hit by HBO when they were making hits look easy. More worthy than some later HBO contenders (looking at you, GoT,

Were you hopelessly confused by the end or did you just not like the way it ended? I was not confused for most of it and I liked the way it ended. It somewhat made sense.
Now was it the dramatic ending that matched the years and years of hype that everyone wanted? Maybe not. It was more of a feel good ending

Neither. We liked it. Solid. I would not vote for it as GOAT, but it certainly deserves the praise it gets. I was pointing out the problems some fans had with the twists and it gave me pause, initially.

a goat series can't somewhat make sense. The ending definitely didn't live up to the hype but the journey was every bit worth it.

Chalk me up in the camp that thought the finale was great and ended things well. My main gripe was that there seemed to be so much wasted time in S6. But when rewatching it doesn’t really feel like that because you can binge and it doesn’t drag or feel wasted really.
The finale seemed to be either awesome or terrible to people, with no in between. I’m in the awesome camp.

Same.
Has always been my favorite.
Lost is 1a and Breaking Bad is my 1b, but that never fluctuates.

Damn this thread felt like a time capsule
No way it was created in 2014
I made a comment about doing a rewatch with my girlfriend (now wife) and I had to do a double take
