I loved in Serenity when Simon was hurt, she says that he's always been looking after her. it sets it up to where you expect her to say "now it's my turn to save you" or something cheesy like that, but she just says "my turn!" like a little kid and runs out to kill all of the reavers.

I just love the little ways they were able to keep the show/movie humorous.

Agreed.

Plus, the scene where Serenity appears out of the cosmic storm followed by a shitload of reaper ships is one of my favorite scenes of all time.

First time I saw that it blew me away how badass it was.

I didn't like how Kaylee made a big deal about River saying this in a later episode. She acted like river saying this means she thinks river thinks of herself as unstoppable, when really River is saying to Kaylee what Kaylee says ot River earlier in the episode when they are fighting over the apple.

I dunno, botheres me a tad.

yea that was badass. I felt like such a nerd watching the movie and getting a huge nerd boner when you see Serenity for the first time in the movie.

the beginning of the movie did an absolutely perfect job introducing all of the characters and providing significant background with just 1 or 2 sentences. you see Wash, then Zoe asks about the ship, Captain says "go ask your husband." then we see Jayne with a million guns strapped up to himself, Kaylee running around, etc.

I think they were able to introduce the movie to a new audience very well without boring the show viewers with cheesy crap.

I don't think it was the comment that scared her. It was the fact that River was straight up capping bitches left and right without even looking. That is what scared her. River's comment just added to her already shocked state.

This thread makes me wanna do another rewatch of Firefly this weekend. There are just so many good quotes and one liners.

I end argument statements in: "also, I can kill you with my brain." fairly often.

I watched it a few months ago on Netflix. Very good show. Pretty cheesy at times but funny, entertaining, and pretty deep. It has a mix of GREAT acting and TERRIBLE acting (but what do you expect out of a low-budget early 2000s sci fi show?). Character development is fantastic.

I'm a bit surprised by just how beloved the show is. I didn't think it was THAT good, but it was definitely good and worth the watch.

That episode opens up the queston that was never really answered (granted, i never read the Shepard's book) about who the sheppard really was.

They just kinda killed him off in the movie.

Chiwetel Eljiofor

He is great as the villain. Fit the movie perfectly.

"I am not armed"

"Good" *Mal shoots him*

"But I am wearing full body armor. I am not a moron."

*Proceeds to beat the shite out of Mal*

That part always makes me laugh.

Mal: It would be humiliating, having to lie there while the better man refuses to spill your blood. Mercy is the mark of a great man.
[stabs him.]
Mal: Guess I'm just a good man.
[Stabs him again.]
Mal: Well, I'm all right.

Yea, I know. That is what Shepard responds with in Serenity. Well, from the first person.

Along those lines is the bit Mal did at the end of the Train Job episode with Niska's henchmen, explaining that they are returning the money.

When the guy threatenes to hunt him down and kill him, Mal kicks him into the engine turbine and gives the same spiel to the next guy, who readily agrees.
