Might have had a small seizure halfway through it, but damn I love how the beat just kept pumping the whole way through the movie.

Severely overrated, but a fun movie nonetheless.

Name a few severely better action movies in the last 5 years that make this overrated.

Can't stop a guy who makes Babe: Pig in the City, that's just a straight up bad arse, give a guy like that freedom and you know the movies going to be hardcore

Seriously though-- this was like the Western Action movie equivalent of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-- everything was communicated visually, the entire written dialogue might be 10 pages at most-- it was amazing and frankly deserves a Best Picture Oscar (and not in the "man the Rock was freaking awesome it deserves an Oscar" kind of way but like really, that was a beautiful movie that was expertly constructed).

Say what, I mean there's movies with more hardcore action (the Raid, etc) and movies with sharper dialogue, but in terms of creating a world and telling a story that was art.

Damn, I LOVED Babe:Pig in the City. That movie was insane. Dark humor to say the least.

I agree with you on Fury Road. The production design, editing, and cinematography were just surreal. It was PURE action, but action on a wholly different stylistic level.

I really enjoyed it. The rolling band definitely gets the blood pumping. I thought it was a damn good movie although it didn't have a lot of depth but it was a fun watch no doubt.

Loved the movie.
My biggest complaint is Tom Hardy and his mumbling dialogue.
Max was a dominating presence in previous movies but he seems very unsure when he spoke in this one.

That was by design, because Furiosa is that actual main character.

There are fan theories why this is so.

It is the best action movie since Die Hard. Hopefully, it is just as game changing, and leads to the use of more practical effects and logical physics. Miller showed the young punks how to make a real action movie. All these great tools, and you waste them.

it didn't have a lot of depth
You should watch it again. The characters and the mythology have incredible depth without even going into any backstory. Immortan Joe has so much of a hold on his people that they think he's a god and that giving their life for his cause will send them to heaven. The development of Nux going from believing this to realizing everything he believed in was a lie is an incredible story, IMO. Although we don't get all of the information hand fed to us, it's all there. How they view mothers, how they view children, babies. I mean, there is so much mythology in this movie, we just have to look at the clues. That may disappoint people, but not me. I enjoyed watching the current story that was being displayed and using my imagination based on clues given to me to determine what kind of past these characters might have had. Nothing they could have shown me would have been better than how I imagined it. Like The Joker in The Dark Knight for instance.

The focus is on the current story. The characters have lived before this. I think Miller does a great job giving the characters a past without going back and showing us everything, and that can sometimes be difficult to pull off.

I'm in the minority camp, I like the movie and it was worth going to see, but I didn't think it was as great as most do.
