Anybody that complains about the dream sequences or therapy scenes of this show I realize that I have very little in common with from a viewing experience, and it’s not even worth my breath to argue with. But if you finished the series and still don’t understand the importance of that, then the series flew completely over your head
This. It’s not meant to be insulting but if you complain about:
Dream sequences
Pacing
Not enough action
Too much focus on family life
Then it’s not a show for you. I have shows like that for me as well but there are so many layers and interpretations you can make regarding The Sopranos so if you don’t buy into the core premise then it’s not worth debating over.

The whole crew thinks they are rockstars try to imitate characters from Goodfellas and Godfather, but in reality they are borderline retards and broke as shite. Christopher, Paulie, Bobby, Sil, probably have IQs of 70 and the situations they put themselves in are hilarious.
Yeah it always seemed weird that these dudes made all this money but never seemed to have any and lived “paycheck to paycheck.” Like if one scheme went dead for a week they were all flipping out like they couldn’t pay the bills anymore. I assume most had enough legitimate income (since Tony stressed that several times) to live very comfortably. Then on top of that the side hustles and kickbacks. And they always seemed to have thousands to hand out at funerals and parties and whatnot.
I thought maybe they blew all their money on hookers and booze and food but most of the times it seemed like they were just putting that shite on a tab and not actually paying (except for when Pauline and Chris were fighting about who pays for whom).

it's a really good show. But it falls VERY short in the GOAT discussion

It was well known that Gambino crime boss John Gotti was a degenerate gambler and lost tons of money every week making bad bets and chasing bad cards in poker games. Then once he became boss, he started wearing designer suits, cashmere or camel hair coats, visiting the barber daily for a shave and trim. He probably pissed away more money in a week than most normal people make in a few months.
In real life, many of these guys at, or near the top, get lots of money handed to them every week, so it's not like they sweated their asses off working for it.
Easy come, easy go money.....
