EXCLUSIVE: A spinoff of the 1986 John Hughes film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is in the works at Paramount Pictures titled Sam and Victor’s Day Off from Cobra Kai creators Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald. Bill Posley (Bitch arse) is set to write the film.

Sam and Victor’s Day Off will follow the same-day adventure of the titular valets who took the Ferrari on a joy ride in the Matthew Broderick-starrer.

In the original film, the valet attendants were not given official names. They were played by Richard Edson and Larry “Flash” Jenkins, who died in 2019.

Paul Young (Key & Peele) is producing through his company, Make Good Content; the company’s executive Devon Young will oversee the project. Stephen Cedars, Benji Kleiman, and Scott Yacyshyn will be associate producers.

if you're doing a "spin off" that's a good idea.

Peak 2022...reboot a much beloved movie using only the two non-white characters.

Should be a psychological drama regarding Ferris and Sloane having to deal with Cameron's murder by his father knowing damn well that they were the ones truly responsible.

...That, or Cameron's "little chat" with Morris was him gunning down his dad with a creepy smile on his face.

I’d actually like to see if, in fact, Cameron married the first girl he laid, and if she treated him like shite because she will have given him what he has built up in his mind as the end-all, be-all of human existence.

I would rather see a sequel called "Ferris Bueller's Day Off Work" with the original cast with the offspring of Ferris and Cameron being the "serious" and "Responsible" people while the parents have a dose of nostalgia and take the day off.

While I'm 100% out of any movie that's a reboot/reimagining of a classic at this point, for years before they were killing them nonstop I used to think it would be fun to have a sequel here.

I always liked the idea that day really changed Cameron. It was no big deal for Ferris...his days were kind of all like that. But for Cameron, it broke the "old" him and a new one was born.

So I wanted to see a sequel that took place maybe 20 years later, making them nearly 40. Ferris has got a good life, but nothing spectacular. Solid job, but nothing interesting. Nice wife, and a couple of kids living in the suburbs, etc. Basically, his dad. He lost track of Cameron in their college years and obviously Sloane didn't last. Cameron shows back up in his life out of the blue looking to reconnect. But where Cameron allowed that one day to alter his life, and make him take chances and really live, Ferris got boring and old. The movie would be Cameron trying to get Ferris to remember what made him special, etc.

ETA: If it's modern day all he would have to say is that he is on his period or has Covid and boom... party time.
