Soundtrack was superb

I had forgotten that it was stine, but about 30 seconds in, I thought it felt like his universe. Very enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one. Not enough g Jacobs tho

I’m somewhere in the third act and this thing is a mess. The unlikable main characters, the forced interracial lesbian romance, 4 seconds of a 90s song (which I assume they blew half the budget on) before jumping to the next one, disconnected opening scene, zero chemistry between the actors, tone is all over the place - is it trying to be a horror comedy? be a self-aware Scream rip-off? a throwback slasher?

I had hope for this, but maybe the next two will be better.

Soundtrack was awesome I agree. Kept my attention but I have low standards for horror films . Mrs jkyle hated it .she pretended to like it but I could tell. 6.5/10. Would not watch again prob but will continue the trilogy.

I did notice Netflix had it characterized as LGBT whatever. I didn't think it was bad, but from my memory, all of the old goosebumps movies were a little all over the place. I imagine it will come together better as it goes back in time.

I will add, the main character girls accent is like something I have never heard before, like a cartoon of a New York wiseguy or something.

It was pretty good. A fun watch. I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece.

Music throughout was fantastic.

I loved the fear street books

I found it to be 100 minutes of mindless entertainment. The main chick was very attractive, even if she was playing a lesbian, and the kills were all very satisfying. I got what I was looking for - an above average slasher film.

She plays a lesbian in this movie and her fiancé plays a gay dude in Power.

I love how there are never any adults of significance in this Universe. I mean there are a few but its always the younger people on their own. Maybe that will change with the new two, idk. Ready for the next one. I thought they were going to be released sooner than they are. I do agree the plot is a little rushed (which may be by design so it all comes together in the end) but I wonder why they didn't put it in a limited series format. Perhaps, the different timelines are better suited for separate film format.

This movie was pretty good for straight to Netflix. Didn’t expect it to be that brutal with the kills. And the soundtrack gets an A+. There were a few minutes in the beginning where it’s just non stop nostalgia. It was almost too awesome. Looking forward to the other two.

Maya Hawke should have been the lead for this. How dare they kill her off in the first five minutes.

The main female lead was awful. I had no issue with the lesbian angle, but my god was she stilted. Her brother was much better.

Have higher hopes for part 2 where we get one of the Stranger Things cast members as a lead.

Meh. I like Maya Hawke but I don't think she should have been the lead just because she's from Stranger Things. Slasher films of the last 25 years have made a killing (pardon the pun) at killing off semi-famous actors early on in the movie.

I think it was a nod to Drew Barrymore (more famous actress to start) and Scream even down to her crawling away screaming for help and getting stabbed just like the opener in Scream. I’m looking forward to that 1660s story with the Pastor.

Once you get past the first 20ish minutes the movie kind of gets in a groove.

Solid flick, but should have been released in the fall closer to Halloween.

forced interracial lesbian romance

Of course.

Can rarely have a Netflix production without some primary gay/race elements.

I thought it was ok and I will continue to watch. I like the idea of releasing a trilogy over 3 weeks instead of 5 years. Cool concept and I accept that the movies won’t be nominated for academy awards.

The soundtrack was incredible but each song was played for about 10 seconds.

Lots of plot holes but it came across as a slasher film and that’s fine.

The opening was 1000% an homage to Scream so I love that they used someone more well known for something else and killed her off.
