It's always been good. I feel like Winston improved a ton over the 2nd season. I like that they toned down nick a notch as well. At times during the first season his character seemed a little forced.

Absolutely. Really glad about this.
My favorite character flip flops between Schmidt and Nick. The humor is different so it probably depends on the episode I'm watching.

First season Schmidt was my favorite. This last season nick just killed it, he is my fav now. And winston was pretty damn funny the second season too. The show is just really good, but if you tell someone you watch it they give you hell. They don't realize it's really just a funny buddy show with a girl tossed in.

Yeah, I catch a lot of flack for watching this show. I've been told by several people that I remind them of Nick. I don't think that's a good thing.

Easily one of the funniest characters on TV. My DVR shite out on my a few months back so I need to catch up on the rest of this season.
ETA: Winston has improved and grown on me a great deal since the first season.
